Replacement ZT 0801.. lock bar still moving over to the right 100%

I mailed my new ZT 0801 into KAI's warranty with a detailed note of the specific issue. I further noted to KAI, that other owners do not have this problem with their 0801's...

Today I received a brand new replacement 0801. The replacement 0801 has the same issue, in which with a firm grip, you can move the lock bar over 100%. Although on this model, it's way easier to unlock.

Now before I get monkey piled. Let's have a logical discussion.

Is the geometry off on this model? My 0600 lock bar does not move...there are other frame locks with steel inserts in which the lock bar will not move over. Other folks have noted that their 0801 doesn't exhibit this behavior.

I'm going to call KAI to get the official answer.

Does it have play?

No?

Then nothing is wrong. Shallow angle frame locks can do this. The lockbar is a spring. The lockbar will flex and allow it to move over. If there is no play, if the blade stays locked, there is nothing wrong.

Cut something with it and stop staring at the damn thing, or get rid of it for something that has a locking system that is easier to comprehend.

Weird, mine doesn't do that at all, still. I can wedge it in deeper than normal, and make it sticky to unlock if I really try, but that's about it. Also, I don't really see how the knife would fail even if you pushed the bar all the way to the far side frame--there is very little space between the blade and the frame, and the lock bar is quite wide, after all.

Now before I get monkey piled here <removed> Let's have a logical discussion.

I don't believe that emoticon is meant to be used in general. Also, if you're having issues with threads you start turning into monkey piles, have you considered that there may be a common element to those threads (i.e. you)?

This is so badly out of hand. Have we not had pages and pages of perfectly logical discussion on this??

@ duro

The "jerkit" emoticon is only for use in Whine & Cheese. It's labeled this way in the menu.

In what way does being able to push the lock-bar over to 100% impede this knife from performing it's intended purpose of cutting? :)

Cheers,
Kirby

Everyone needs to remember what forum this is in. DO NOT make each other the topic of conversation. If you you have an issue, take it Whine & Cheese.

The only logical thing for you to do duro, is find another brand of knife. Yep, it is that simple. You seem to find way too many flaws in KAI products in particular. Despite the customer service you've received in the past, which was obviously not acceptable to you. Maybe buy a custom Rexford and see how it goes. It is what it is, and nothing we can do about it here. Venting this all over again is the old scratched record, there is no logical discussion to be had given the nature and history of the complaint(s).

Just how firm is a "firm grip"? Are you whiteknuckling the knife? If so, then calm down and go away. There is no logical situation where you would need to white knuckle your knife, so no danger is present here.

If you really hate it so much, i'll take it off your hands.

It sounds like that model is not for you. I could do the same to any framelock . That is just the nature of a steel on steel frame lock IMO.
Sell it and get an axis lock or compression lock and you can squeeze the heck out of it.

I really dont know why you keep insisting on buying Kai products over and over again.... I would highly suggest moving on to a strider or hinderer, no offense, but why buy three or four of the same thing, knowing you dont like it, and keep crying?

I'm sorry to hear it is not fixed to your liking. Maybe it's time to try another brand. Might I suggest the following.
