I know of one very picky man that bought a new truck once, that bugged the dealer so often about every little detail, they told him to never come back. Are you saying duro is this bad? Because you have to be pretty bad for a car dealer to refuse your business.

Well Jill lets just say I bet they would pay Duro to not purchase their products at this point. :D

How many times did he actually send a knife back to ZT for a problem?

I believe this is the third or fourth time. But let's all remember that it was for an imaginary issue on his zt0560 that Jim handled personally, confirmed there was no issue (even carried the knife himself for a while) but still sent him a new one out of the kindness of his heart. I believe that was the second trip the 0560 made back to the factory after they told him that there was nothing wrong with it the first time as well.

Some people are just overly picky like that, then when/if they do have a real problem it's like the boy that cried wolf. But, I would have just made sure duro got a 0801 back that had no lock bar issues at all, if I had been ZT. At least it seems easy enough to do being the model isn't limited and ZT undoubtedly has them on hand in number.

Just to clarify, I would assume the pictures were taken after he had pushed the lock-bar to 100%.

How is it a manufacturing error? :)

Uhm, All it takes is a firm grip of the knife....as mentioned. I'm also not the only one with this issue. Take a look at JDavis's youtube video, although his isn't so severe.

You really think it was an imaginary issue? Or KAI not wanting to admit anything? The lock failed. End of story. Take a look at the amount of blems that KAI kicks out, not to mention the most recent issue with their knives. I'm beginning to think KAI sends you free swag as well, for all of your hard attempts at discrediting consumers that publish their defective products.

Why is it that KAI transitioned over to a steel insert? They're not user replaceable, as you would think. The insert is still press fit. Notice I no longer own an 0560/61, and was happy to give it back to them. At the end of the day, KAI is a business.

again. No wonder Darrel Ralph banned you....You did nothing but complain in his forum on YOUR dissatisfaction with his product, and here you are giving me a hard time? I think you should sit in a corner and contemplate.

Thanks Jill. I'm going to call them on Monday. The real purpose of this thread is to see how many others are experiencing the same issue, and to see what's causing this problem. Maybe they need to adjust the milling specs of the tang? We've only had a few people chime in with their opinion. The rest just try and discredit as if they have some sort of agenda, or employment with KAI.

Duro, could you answer please? Thanks

They simply sent a new 0801, and included the form that I sent detailing my problem. I'm sure once I call they will have something in their system about why a replacement was issued.

My opinion is that the repair employee gave me another 0801 to imply, "they're all like that" --even though this one was easier to disengage and didn't move over as quickly as the other 0801.

yep, whole thing is a conspiracy by people employed by KAI or by people who get free stuff from KAI to discredit such highly respected members of the knife community such as yourself and Jdavis..... Brilliant you are. Im sorry, but if i was you and kept having problems, i would have quit with that particular product by now, and yet you keep making the same mistakes over and over. Hell, ill buy the knife from you and you can be done with it.

I'm going to close this one down. There is way too much discussion of each other.
