Does it have play?
No?
Then nothing is wrong. Shallow angle frame locks can do this. The lockbar is a spring. The lockbar will flex and allow it to move over. If there is no play, if the blade stays locked, there is nothing wrong.
Cut something with it and stop staring at the damn thing, or get rid of it for something that has a locking system that is easier to comprehend.
No one cares about your ZT threads anymore...

Lets not forget, this is a 200 dollar knife. Do you want to pry your lock bar to close the knife every time you go to use it hard? Enough said.
KAI is pleasing me. I'd be happy to note that prior to sending my 0801 into repair, I put a nice edge on the blade, as I did not initially plan on returning the knife. Someone in warranty took note of this and put a nice polished edge on my replacement 0801. That tells me they're putting some thought into each warranty repair.
I have to admit I own a lot of frame locks and you can't move them over as far as duro's pictures are showing. In fact they are all brands, ZT, Spyderco, CR, Kershaw, Strider, Galyean Pro, and the only one I can force over that far is a cheaper Kershaw all steel. It's been used a good deal too.It is solid though, as much as it was new. The rest mostly move very little, or not at all when pushed in. I don't have a 0801, but it does look like the blade's locking surface is cut a lot straighter than any of mine. Maybe that and if tolerances aren't exactly spot on causes it?
No wonder Darrel Ralph banned you. If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it at all. Keep that in mind for the rest of you who wish to try and monkey pile this thread.
Why is this thread still open? Sounds like a whine and cheese thread. Can we close this or should I start bitching?
The two 0801's that I've checked out exhibit this same behavior.
