Rick Menefee Knives...

Vince thanks for posting pics of Rick and his equally good looking brothers. I bet nobody messed with the "Menefee Boys" when they were growing up.
What a taper & extreme point to the big Fillet. Congratulations Rick, a lot of talent and skill must be required to make such a finely ground blade. I thought it kind of long until i saw the kind of big that those fish are.
I love seeing 'family' photos of my BF friends.
No matter how many knives you bring to Blade Rick, there won't be enough for all who are hoping to score a Menefee. You might need to bring your brothers for crowd control !

We filled two freezers in two days top to bottom. This trip was for the family food supply all year. We will be going back in a month to have fun with the family and rod and reel fish. We were using floating trot lines and it was too cold to get the babies in the boats. We were planning on spending four days but the fish were in the spot they should of been and it got good fast. The weather was not good for the young ones so we came home. All knives in the photo's were made by us and all did the job. I heat treated, Rocky rough ground all knives but mine. I finished grinding and they put the handle on their own knife. I Rc the 154 cm at 58 and it turned at to have a little flex and was real easy to bring the edge back up to cut again. With all the great steels 154cm is hard to beat and i don't see how it could be any better. Heat treat+cryo+Grind!!!!!!!!!!!!!!=Wonderful tools.

I'm all over these fixed blades but I wish you guys would stop posting them. I'm on Rick's list and every time I think I have my mind made up, someone posts something else that makes me go "wow".

Here is Ricks younger brother, who is studying knifemaking, under Rick.
Rick says in order to grind long thin blades & swedges, like on that knife, one needs muscles & nerves of steel. Rocky's got the muscle wrapped up,but Rick makes him handle these large rattlers, for nerve,

I'm going to tell Rick to have his brother put me on his list too; if someone is willing to handle a rattler like that, I'm willing to let him make me a knife!

He told me he caught enough last weekend to fund his airline-ticket to Atlanta in june. I have never been dumb enough to handle two at a time. Im going to try and get Dowell to go snake hunting next week but we are all bus trying to make a knife for the big show.

Vince, That's a nice one there! Rick did a helluva
job with that! Bill "The Butcher" would like that
himself!;) Thanks for sharing!

Here are three knives being shipped out this week. The bottom knife is a 4" trapper,a new pattern.Rick re worked his prev. pattern on that knife & this will be standard for a 4" trapper. The Front pocket & trapper sport new style shields.A great looking mini Zulu on top.

Vince, Those 3 look awesome! I really
like the look of them all! The new shields
are scwheeet! Rick always has something
new up his sleeve! Thanks for sharing!
*Great job "Big Man" killed these 3!*;)

Hey Rick are these new shields of your design? They are a great twist on the old standards.

"Looks like a sowbelly dogsac in the middle".
Well it does somewhat. to me it looks like my un-neutered Jack Russell from behind. Tight.

Nice trio! The shields are interesting but what caught my eye is the larger than usual pivot on the bottom trapper. Is there a particular reason for it being oversize or just for aesthetics?
