Rob Simonich was a great man.

Huka hey, my friend, Black Bear, Huka hey..
I just broke the tab on that bottle of Bushmill Millenium, the mate to the one I gave you at the last Blade show. I raise my glass to you. You will be sorely missed. Go in peace.....

When it's my time to pass on, I'll be ready because I know you are there and already teaching them about knifemaking and dealing with us knifemakers....

I am so sad....

Rob's passing was a loss to the knife community. May he rest in peace. I'll have plenty to cherish from his awesome knife designs.

I never met him nor known him but after reading all your post deffently my loss .My prayers are with Christine and Rob's family. God speed Rob.

What a terrible tragedy and especially at time a year when families are normally rejoicing and now it is a constant reminder of a time of pain and loss. One can only hope that Rob is in a better place, but that is often small comfort to family and friends. Our prayers go out to Rob's family.

I just recently added Rob's knives to the list of knife makers that I wanted to own and use. I spoke with him on Tuesday about the Nordooh and Aurora that I had sent him to refurbish for me. He said he had the boxes but hadn't gotten around to opening them yet. When I asked if I could call him in a couple of weeks to get a schedule he jokingly said that would be fine, but the knives would probably be ready to come back to me by then. Rob's innovative designs and work are now limited to what he had time to create prior to having his life cut short
:(

Always sad to see such talent leave. Then I realized that I have a Camillus Talon that he designed, I'll think about it a little differently now.

Rob's passing is a huge loss for all of us. He was a gentleman of the first order and a maker of wonderful knives. It was a great pleasure to speak with Rob and work out the details of a custom knife. Those knives, now even more so, will be treasured.

My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

I will always have Rob Simonich to thank for being one of my inspirations in the (thus far) 3 year journey that is my knife making career. I feel like I have lost a very good friend, even though I only knew him from interaction on the forums. I heard earlier, and have read, and posted, to the other threads - but I just cant get a real handle on it right now... very very sad.
My prayers for his family.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Christine and his family. I hope his brother pulls through with his injuries. It is very obvious that Rob walked the walk and was the real deal. There are many here that were fortunate to have met him and called him friend. There are many more that wish they could have. He was an inspiration to us all.
Very sad news indeed.

I just logged onto chat and learned this terrible news. Chat was where I got to know Rob a little bit. He was always quick to help with knifemaking problems anybody might have and even quicker with a great joke or story. I'm glad I got to meet him at Blade one year. He was just like his online persona. An all around great guy and a great knifemaker. I'm proud to say I own 2 of his knives and they match the quality of his character. My condolences to his family.

We lost one of the greats today...and not even talking about just as a knifemaker, but as a human being. Rob was one of the most unique and special people I have ever had the honor to call a friend, and I am in shock. He was a close friend of mine both in and out of the business, with the biggest of hearts and integrity through and through. I spent most of my off-time with Rob at the last SHOT show, and I am thankful that I had that time with him, which was great as always. If only he'd pulled the trigger on Andy that night...(just kidding, brother -- LOL!). I was Andy's "back-up" running in behind him yelling "FREEZE!" I had no idea Rob had the .45 out and ready...I guess me and my finger were outgunned. Luckily, I did not have a Valet uniform on...

This is truly heartwrenching. I feel such a deep loss right now...

My thoughts and prayers go out to Christine and the rest of the family.

Rob was a great man, and knifemaker, and will be sorely missed.

I also hope Rob's brother pulls through.

It's a geat loss to the knife community. I only got to know Rob through his work, the forums and the occasional email when he was trying to convey a knifemaking thought to me as I learned and picked his brain.
God just received the ultimate update in bladeware designs. Grind in peace Rob.

Just a thought: Is anyone going to be checking to see how Christine is going to be after the dust settles? I know that in knifemaking, a lot can be riding on the next order to be filled. Do we, as the knife community need to start looking into a way to help her through this? It there is a way we can help out, please let us know.
