" Christine Here

Hello Dear Friends,
Thanks to each and everyone of you for your thoughts, prayers and kind words. Rob loved the forums, getting to know all of you. Often I would here him burst into laughter at your comments. He LOVED the little cowboy smily face someone made for him recently. "those guys" he said. Well, I am still in a bit of shock- disbelief and horror of the the recent 24 hours. I truly thank all of you for your support. As things come together I will let you know what is going on.
Much Love
Christine Simonich

I never got the opportunity/pleasure to meet Rob in person. Like a lot of us knifenuts, I only go to know him through his many posts on the forums, and from those, I got the feeling that he was straight-up good guy with a great sense of humor. My sincere condolences to his family and friends. He's a man that will me sorely missed by a great many people at at great many different levels.

Happy trails cowboy. We won't ever forget you!

I heard the sad news about Rob a bit earlier today, and it still hurts to see this thread. He was a hell of a nice guy. I got to meet and chat with him at the last Blade where my father and I each bought a knife from him. It's a damn shame these things happen.

I have always liked Rob. He was kind in speech, considerate of others, humble in the face of praises and extremely talented.

I shall miss him. Prayers for his family.

May God give Christine, Rob's family, loved ones and friends the strength they will need. And a special prayer for Rob's brother's complete recovery. Rob IS in a better place, where reunions will occur.

Samhell just informed me of this sad news. I too got to know Rob through chat. Often I'd ask him questions so I could benefit from his knowledge. I even got permission from him to do a "gunner grip" on a knife that I gave Samhell for a birthday present. Rob was always generous with information, laughter, and heart. I miss him.

My deepest sympathys. He was a great man. I have admired his work for some time. This is a terrible loss. God Bless.

I had the pleasure to meet and talk to Rob at gun shows in OKC and at Blade show the year before last. My impression of him was that he was a real nice guy. I always enjoyed talking to him.His work speaks for itself.
My condolences and prayers go out for Christine and his family and the family of his brother.

Unbelievable, I just heard about this. I met Rob once and talked to him over the phone many times throughout the years. He even sent me some talonite once for free, which I inturn gave to someone else who wanted it. My best wishes to Robs family in this hard time. The whole knife community will miss him and his skill.

I am sad to hear of this. I know there is Time in our world and it never runs backward, and we must all sooner or later face this reality. This does not make that reality any easier to live with when we loose good friends.

Am stunned to learn of Rob's death.

On behalf of our company -

We grew to know each other via email while our unit was in Kuwait preparing for the war. Great blurbs and discussions. Always a joy to see Rob's messages waiting on the computer.

As many know he donated several knives to those going into the fight. Several. A great heart and true patriot. Those who got his blades treasure them.

GEN Gary Harrell, the overall commander for all US and Coalition Special Forces / operations, carries one of Rob's Combat Ravens. He had to have one when he saw one of our lads carrying his. In true fashion Rob had one headed the general's way within days.

Rob was and remains one of those rare craftsmen, one of those rare human beings, who stood out simply because he was who he was. Such a loss to the rest of us. What a joy to have known him for only a brief moment in this Life.

May God Bless his family in this their time of sorrow and need.

Greg Walker, Sergeant First Class
& the Operators of Co. A, 19th Special Forces Group (Airborne)

Today I am hurting over the loss of a friend. I've known him for several years and pretty much witnessed his rise to popularity. When I have more time I'll probably share some memories of him that I have of him and the times we hung out. I am also fortunate enough to own several of his custom pieces, one of which I am wearing right now in honor of Rob. He certainly had a lot of friends in the knife industry...he was one who you liked immediately upon meeting.

My heart, prayers, and thoughts certainly go out to Christine and Megan in the wake of this tragedy.

Why is it always the good guys???

Rest in peace, my friend.
