Rob Simonich was a great man.

I only knew Rob Simonich through the forums and a few exchanged emails, but his personality and quality of character came through even there. I am going to miss him.

My prayers and best wishes go out to his family.

Rob will be dearly missed in our little world. Just found out about this later yesterday and it still has not sunk in that we have lost one of our finest.

Prayers go out for Christine and his family. Rob touched a lot of us in ways beyond knives that will be cherished.

With proud thanksgiving, a mother for her children,
England mourns for her dead across the sea.
Flesh of her flesh they were, spirit of her spirit,
Fallen in the cause of the free.

Solemn the drums thrill; Death august and royal
Sings sorrow up into immortal spheres.
There is music in the midst of desolation
And a glory that shines upon our tears.

They went with songs to the battle, they were young,
Straight of limb, true of eye, steady and aglow.
They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted,
They fell with their faces to the foe.

They shall not grow old, as we who are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We shall remember them.

They mingle not with their laughing comrades again;
They sit no more at familiar tables of home;
They have no lot in our labour of the day-time;
They sleep beyond England's foam.

But where our desires are and our hopes profound,
Felt as a well-spring that is hidden from sight,
To the innermost heart of their own land they are known
As the stars are known to the Night;

As the stars that shall be bright when we are dust,
Moving in marches upon the heavenly plain,
As the stars that are starry in the time of our darkness,
To the end, to the end, they remain.

For the Fallen (Valediction)

I was sickened to read this just now.

Rob was probably the most welcoming, nicest "knife guy" I've met. I had the privilege to get to hang out with him two years in a row at Blade.

He was always teasing me in some form or another, and what a joker he was!

I have a lot of good memories of Rob, and I miss him already.

I am really sorry and I offer my deepest condolences to his family and friends.
When I was writing my thesis, Rob was a great help in giving me the opinion of a knifemaker, towards the internet.
I bought one of his mid tech Combat Ravens and I will remember him everytime I use it.

My husband spoke so highly of Mr. Simonich. I am so sorry for his family and the knife community. This is a great loss. My thoughts and prayers are with Christine, Megan & Rob's brother. God Bless you all.

My prayers are with the Simonich family. I hadn't checked the forums for a few days until now and I'm just in shock. I never knew Rob but I've never heard someone spoken about so well.
God rest,
Matt

Whether a new knifemaker or an old pro, Rob treated us all with respect and kindness, and always a gentle smile. I am glad I took the time to get to know him. I ask God to give strength to his wife a family in the months to come. Happy Hunting Rob!!

At my first Blade Show I sat in the bar and had a beer with Rob. We joked about him making a cellphone automatic and spreading a rumor on the forums. We also made up a story about a talonite balisong.

I bought two of his knives that year and he always remembered me every time we met. Rob set the standard high for being a "Good Guy" in the knife industry and he will be sorely missed by many.

I remember him telling me that he got started making knives because he had lost his, a Ruana.

Christine, we are here for you.

I never talked to Rob. I've never seen him either except in the magazines. But I got to know him, or at least a part of him by means of his knives. Rest in peace, Rob

Although not fortunate enough to have met him, I'm truly saddened to hear of his passing. I am, however, fortunate to own several of his knives which I will now cherish more than ever. My prayers go out to his family.

Rob left a strong impression on everyone he met. He was a true warrior, a fine man, and a good friend. I will miss him forever. I know he is in a better place, on an eternal hunt, doing what he loves. He is a presence who will be greatly missed by everyone who had the pleasure of meeting him. A fine and true man.

I have learned much from Rob...We have lost a great member of our community.

My thoughts and prayer go out to Rob's friends and family.

Rick

I don't have the words to express the sense of loss to the knife community. My deepest sympathy goes out to his family and many friends. I'll remeber you in prayer...
