Oh... my... what's that lil' ol' metal thang in that pic? Could that be a handy-dandy thingamabob, made of professionally-heat-treated cutlery-grade steel that opens beers and drives screws and pries things and scrapes sparks off ferro-rods and steels fine edges and fits in your pocket or could dangle seductively around your neck, and makes women fall in lurve with ya and makes men wanna be like you?
That's a heckuva concept. Someone oughtta start makin' things like that.
I was trying to wing him, and I was to excited to hold fire, kids get that way.![]()
Well you old men have no issues with sitting still. You try sitting for 4 hours straight with ADHD,![]()
I'm curious what the road conditions are like in Kansas in early December. Some friends of mine just moved to Kansas City and should be settled into their new house in a couple weeks and they want me to head out for a visit. I'm a little apprehensive to take my 2wd s10 on a roadtrip in winter.
you'll be fine.
I 70 is well plowed/sanded on the off chance we get any weather in early December, and unlike the mountains, we generally have a couple days worth of warning before a bad storm rolls over us.
Now THAT is advertising right there![]()
Sounds about right to me LOL
What was the other dog, and how did they act around each other?
cleared brush for 5 hammock setups this afternoon - tomorrow I dig the fire pit and build an outhouse.
looks like it could be a chilly gathering this weekend.

Oddly enough, I didn't study marketing or bidness or nothin'. I'm either an idiot-savant or just an idiot. We'll see how that thingamabob pans out. *shrug*
They actually have 2 other dogs. One is a female St Bernard and the other is of all things a boxer/chihuahua mix. They all get along pretty well, but can get pretty rough with each other at times.
"Old men"... lol. When I was yer age, no one called it "ADHD" and we certainly weren't allowed to use that as an excuse... If you can't sit still for 4 hours at a time, you've got no goddamn business being in the woods with a firearm.
Seen some of the pix from someone on Instagram, can't remember who it was though. Looked like fun! Hardwoodsman meet?
Well, I obviously sit still long enough for a large buck to have contact, sooooo........
True enough. But this is how ADHD was dealt with where I'm from.![]()

I think ADHD is an excuse for people to act like a-holes. Not saying you specifically MMist just saying ADHD people in general. Having ADHD to me means you have no discipline. In my mind anyways. If you acted like a uncontrollable excitable monkey you were treated like one also and had pills stuffed down your throat by psychiatrists.
Haven't seen any deer yet cept for driving 4 wheeler back from cuzin's camper in the dark last night. Was either doe (which can't shoot even if wasn't dark) or spiker. Didn't want to spook it to bad by chasing after it too much. I've been sitting in a chair in a field for last two days and it's been below 30 F both days. Try sitting still in that.It sux. It was 17 F yesterday and exact same today. I've sat for 4 hrs. in -30 F couple years ago too with no blind/stand or heater. Only going out in afternoon today. Buying a blind and heater tomarrow so can sit somewhat comfortably. Building a few stands this summer. Sick of freezing my nads off. What's the temp. in Kentucky? Man I would be just sick if missed a nice buck. I'm sure I'll only et one chance this year.Supposed to be the lowest deer harvest this year since the record lowest in 1982! Worried. That's all I can shoot is buck's too. Can you shoot does? If you end up getting one would like too see it. Good luck.

I hear you. That happens with pretty much everybody. I've walked around looking for deer too and have had success might try too if you can walk quiet/still enough if getting too bored sitting. Though sounds like your getting alot more action then I'm seeing so don't know why you'd walk.
25FI'm shocked so cold in the south. WTF. Is that common? I have a 6-18 x 44 Vortex crossfire scope and damn I love it. It's all I've ever need for my rifle. What kind of scope you got?
Damn that's nice. Lucky lucky lucky. That's so much meat! We can only shoot 1 buck this year. I don't think we can ever shoot more than one per year with rifle. Though 2 years ago we got to pick either buck or doe. There's one county that can shoot limitless does in mn. Will check out that pic. Havent been seeing any from anybody else around me.![]()
Ulf:
ADHD or ADD (most of the time there isn't hyperactivity) is not an excuse...but it IS an explanation. Lots of people have your opinion, even a lot of folks WITH ADD (about themselves, because they are undiagnosed), and that sort of attitude makes it even harder for the people (adults and children) with ADD to get some help. Most people with ADD are not "a-holes" with a lack of self control, they are people with a medically studied and proven neurological condition, and most of them suffer from enough self esteem problems from their "inability to control themselves" that they don't need criticism from others. I would encourage visiting the www.chadd.org site and learning a little more; you might know more than a few adults who have undiagnosed ADD.
Although I do agree with JT that if you've got a gun in your hands, you had better ACQUIRE YOUR TARGET before you pull the trigger. That is a recipe for an accidental shooting.
