13 dollars for the year aint bad, but like you said thats just to own the name/address. But it would of been 150 to actual build a site. I wasnt paying that. Eventually i may try and just make a front page, no cart, no selling directly on the site, and no links, just an info page. Thats still prolly a PITA to do though LOL.

I dont have enough products or anything to actually do a website to sell stuff. I just thought id grab the domain name... Now no one else can take it.

you know, some people spend that per month on a cable or cell phone bill, or other habits, but hey, it's a biz nez expense. if you need it, you need it.

worse, if you need custom, expect to pay $50-100/hr or more :D

I started eating and for some reason starting to choke of my food. It started as a quick cough and turned into the food lodged in my throat. I had to pull the Jeep over quickly. BUT.... I just seen it looks like they donate some of that money to charity... SO thats good. I may would go knowing its for charity.

After all i did just spent 50 bucks on a little tub of spicy seasoning.. but only because it goes to a really good cause. Hate dust raised 22,000 dollars in 1 hour of sales on Saturday. They had already donated over 140 grand in just over 1 years time as well.

Well, it's for charity, and even still it's 2 days all you can eat and drink. Made by famous chefs. Most of these guys have their own restaurants and it would be $250 for eating at a couple of them anyway.
 
Worldwood, you would have flipped man. I stopped at the gas station on the way to work and they had a display in the store with packs of Reeses PB cups the size of VHS tapes. Not sure if they had larger cups or just more of them but dang, that's a lot of candy.

Right? I was thinking just to put up a front page with my email address and stuff would be cheap/free after buying the domain. No such luck.

BUT.... If i cant figure out how to put an info page up for free or at least under 20 bucks, i doubt ill ever do anything with the domain.

I got an email earlier saying this

I just laughed. I dont even want to deal with any type of large website... I did think it would be pretty cool to have a basic website... But again it would of only been one page no links, maybe a couple pictures... Nothing fancy.

This is true... But id never eat at them restaurants either LOL

Everyone places different "values" on different things... I for one never been much into putting big money into eating fancy. Dressing fancy either for that matter.

Plus my favorite foods are cheap anyways. Fried chicken, collard/mustard greens, fried okra... I love me some steak too dont get me wrong.. But im happy with whatever steak is on sale in the grocery store.

All that being said... Its for a good cause and im cool with that!!!

No pics?? Did you grab me one??

All the reese's from Halloween were gone the next day... At the end my daughter sold me her last one for 50¢. She even came out into the living room saying "daddy i got one more reese cup but if you want it its gunna cost you... I cracked up and asked her the price.... it was so cute she could of asked for 5 bucks and prolly got it. 50¢ was much better though. LOL

One year on Valentines day my wife got me a few large reese hearts. They were AWESOME.

If you google "giant reeses"...well I don't even want to think about what you might do with all them pictures. :D there were some youtube videos about making giant PB cups too.
 
Dude i googled it over an hour ago when you first mentioned giant reese's cups LMAO

I once took that chocolate syrup you put on ice cream or use to make chocolate milk with and mixed it up with peanut butter.... Not horrible, it just wasnt the same though :D
 
if you want a "website", the easy way is to get a maker's account on a forum like this, or do something on facebook, or ...

invest in paying for a photo hosting site with professional features (like smugmug), and then use THAT for your media

a lot of companies, with a LOT OF DOLLARS to spend, have actual sites, some even without carts and stuff, and it's pretty pathetic...

Target and TJX (TJ Max/Marshalls/etc)... had "view only" sites for a long time. nothing to buy.

you CANNOT imagine how much money a major site spends on their sites... amazon? inconceivable...

so, yeah :D

that said, you CAN spend a few hundred a year, and get a "website in a can", and some ability to hack things. it might be simple. it might be shit, but there we are.
