Rodent Waki Pre-order NOW!!!!

I have not been this effing stoked for a blade since the FBM hit the Busse page years ago.

I'm in for tanker grey and black canvas.
 
What's the handle color on the bottom Waki? Is that Black Micarta?

Who already has a Swamp Rat Rodent Waki...that they bought at Blade???

I don't always read every post and every thread here, but I don't recall anyone mentioning (bragging :) ) about the Waki they purchased at Blade-Atlanta 2009. Were any sold? Were there discussion/picture restrictions on those purchases?

BTW, I ordered three soon after the pre-order thread was posted.

The WAKI's at Blade were only for display purposes. They did not sell any of them there.

Nice. Thanks Jaxx. That's the combo I ordered. I was afraid it would look like one solid piece (scales and all). I like that they're different shades of black.

Not me, I was hoping it would be one color... oh well, it still is fuckin awesome. I watched the video with my accountant (and wife) and she agrees it is definitly worth nearly $400.
 
Charlie, if you want black on black change your handle from micarta to G10 .. it's BLACK

Oh well, I have seen the pics and come to terms... I can always have Reese Weiland do me a re-handle. He is my default modder for things I can't do with a Dremel tool.

Eric says it's cool if you want to change your order. Just email him. I had to downgrade because of financial issues. I originally ordered black coating on red/black G-10.

That's awesome that you have a wife that sees the value in the wakis. The only thing that came to my girlfriend's mind when she saw the video was "how much is that gonna cost?" And while she doesn't have a problem with me getting it, she didn't seem that impressed with the video. I had to explain that swords aren't supposed to be able to do that.

robstar's suggestion to switch to the black G-10 is a good one... But if you prefer micarta, just use some mineral oil on the black micarta handles to get them nice & dark. :thumbup: You will have to re-apply oil every so often, but it doesn't take long and the beauty of using the mineral oil is that if you change your mind, and want to go back to the 'grey' of untreated black canvas micarta, all you have to do is use a toothbrush or similar type brush and some warm soapy water to scrub the handles clean and it will revert to its original color once dry. :)
