When my Waki arrives I might give the Red and Black handle a going over with this "mineral oil" and see what it does.
I'd like to see that darkened a bit and that combo looks to me (in the photos) like dark leather, and I reckon darker might be even nicer.

I used petroleum jelly on the snakeskin micarta of my FBM and that bought out some of the colours really nicely.

All these little trick are quite handy to know.

RED and Black on your WAki is G10. G10 isn't changed with oil. Only micarta soaks up the oil to make it darker.

The red and black is G10, not Micarta, and mineral oil will not do much if anything to it.
 
I sent my emails about about a week ago now and still waiting for "send payment info" I know it's still open I'm just posting this in case they close their waiting list soon and then find out they never got my emails.

For us International buyers we pay an extra $32 - which we select as an additional invoice item when we pay via the store (shop.ratknives.com).

I can't see mention of shipping for US customers, either at the store or in Eric's pre order thread, so I suspect shipping is included for US customers.

No idea about our Canadian brethren who are international but are often counted as US for these things...

Re G10 darkening and oil, thanks for the info Messrs Peasy and Finkenstein.
I'm sure I'll get by, when the thing o' beauty turns up. :)
 
Damn looking at that orange and black on black, I can feel another change of heart colour wise coming on.
I hope that wont be another 8 week delay which is the penalty I pay for my last change of mind (knowing about it up front, Eric warned me, it's my choice).
Or put me in the angry books with Eric.
Mebbe I'll wait a a week or two and see what else catches my eye to be sure, then re-approach him...

Just hope it will go through, PLEASE ERIC say it will...
 
How long does it take to get a response from the emails? Sent my first emails on 7/16 and then follow up on 7/22 and have not heard back.

It says all regular shipping charges apply, in the first post. Its probably the $18 Bimmer mentioned.
 
I got my Waki today. It kicks a$$, went out and used it... immediately. Thanks Eric and the crew at Swamp Rat for making these, I am very pleased with mine.:D
 
FYI, I just got my "ready to be shipped" email for my Waki. I sent my original email on the 23rd. 5 days aint bad. Be patient... looks like they're taking and processing pre orders rather quickly. Yay!!! Waki!!!

Some colors we have a few extra's from the first batch. I went through and emailed anyone that selected those combo's, looks like you were one of the lucky one's ;)

Not everyone will have a turnaround quite so quickly.
