RoseCraft Knives

Oh, and the Mosquito Lake Moose. Great looking, for sure, but probably larger than I’d want to pocket.

Pic from manufacturer.

- yes, looks very good indeed.

Only just arrived in UK, just ordered one too.

Under 3” blades, so UK street legal carry

Ok, so the Mosquito Lake Moose has arrived today.

Sadly, no good for me as the blades are simply too difficult to open, and indeed, the clip-point has the nail nick too close to the pivot.....sorry.

Other than that, it is an utterly stunning legal folder for here in UK with plenty of good feel in the hand, substantial quality heft and excellent fit n finish. For the money, just don't know how they do it.

My humble opinion, personally, Rosecraft is missing a trick making them too difficult to open - sure, I'm a senior aged guy now, yet know much younger knife users who find some of these blades too tough as well...

They are indeed a bit snappy, but for my personal preference, I enjoy it, because paired with these strong backsprings, it makes the knife feel almost like a lockblade when open. I appreciate the "feel" of it.

Pretty much the same for me on that to be honest. I really do prefer a stronger pull and snap. All Rosecraft knives I have pretty much have been very consistent with a strong pull.

Certainly can understand where you are coming from as well, Chui. Sorry brother, wish that Mosquito Lake Moose would have worked out for you.

- thank you.

Am very far from a shrivelled ol' geezer...........but my thumbnails simply are unable to do the shallow angle+pull of this new one.

The French Broad Jack, for example, is an utterly elegant interpretation of a classic with wonderful pinch-pull that makes drawing outta pocket and using it in a smooth progressive action............sublime.!

Those nail nicks on the Moose certainly are placed very far back. Designers need to re-think that feature in case it becomes a trend  Many Traditional knives (French ones esp.) have nail nicks placed far forward to facilitate opening:thumbsup:
Well they don’t want the French to give up on opening their knives, historically they have a certain track record in regards to surrendering easily. 😂 just couldn’t help myself.

Nor the enormous losses in WW.1 750,000 French & Germans killed or wounded just at Verdun in 9 months 1916.

During the Battle of France in 1940 the French army lost c.90,000 dead in little over a month, thousands captured (some taken to Germany as 'workers') Their British ally lost around 10,000 killed and Churchill ordered Gen. Gort to retreat/run away and create the Dunkerque myth. It saved a lot of British&French troops but it was desertion and the Germans laid off attacking this point on Hitler's orders. Too often this insulting lie about French cowardice&surrender has been promoted by Anglo-American historians, too lazy to research anything and keen to get easy credit. War is Hell, that's for sure.

Back to the real topic.
