RSK MK2 BK12

I believe the bk12 still comes with the old camillus grivory handles. So they are thicker than the kabar handles. kabar has changed the type of polymer they use a few times now. I think they did grivoiry, zytel, and now ultramid. I think if we get really sciencey grivory is the better polymer of the three.

I'm a sucker for spearpoints, and this 12 is very close to one!
I hear that. The one NSlice modded is sick. I offered to buy it from him, but he wanted a million for it, iirc, haha. Don't blame him one bit. I think he ground the spine down straight as well.

I saw that the handle material may be different on the bk12. We'll see how I like it with the factory grips. If I like the factory ones, I'll just throw the micarta scales onto the bk4 The Warrior The Warrior gave me!

Do it! I'll just enable the knife sickness in ya! When I'm done with my 12, you're gonna want one too....:D
I was just telling the wife, after taking 15 knives or so to the cabin, that I need to slow down on the knife buying, haha. Yeah, right. :p

I was just talking about that in the Spyderco forum. We can always find a way to self-justify a purchase of a new knife!

Who's gonna do it for you?
I'll have 710 do one for me, when I decide to gitter done. He makes awesome looking 4 sheaths.

I like the dangler best. Probably have it done in camo.

Dang, those sheaths are nice! I see that he makes one for the bk12 too! I may have to contact him about filing down my thumb guard flush with the spine.

I've been looking at a bunch of old threads regarding the BK-12. Seems like it is one of those forgotten gems. Maybe your mods to it will usher in some renewed interest, which means I should buy one soon before they are all gone. :D

I'd hop on it! Once they are sold out at KW, there will be no more! It does looks like there is a lot of info out there on the bk12.

Just when I realize it is available after assuming it was a discontinued model, and now finding that there is limited quantities.... Grrrr, can't win.... :(

Looks like I need to sell some stuff to fund a new blade.

I need to sell a thing or two myself! I'm sitting on way too many knives right now!

I've always loved the look of the BK12, but I dislike thumb ramps in general. I think that a rampless 12 would be my favorite full-size Becker.

The only one I've handled belongs to NCSlice NCSlice , and I quite liked it.

Please get one, mod it, and show us pics!

The Ka-Bar micarta fits...
If you take out the weight plugs.
The TKC do not fit because this isn't skeletonized like the Ka-Bar. One could carve out the micarta to accommodate the plugs...

...on that note,
There's a BK12 video with @Ethan Becker and @Critter thats really good. Near the beginning Ethan says with a $#!+ eating grin, in regards to the weights, the knife came out perfect...once you remove the weights.
Something like that. It's a good watch.
