It can be a conundrum, can't it? I like both so I make both and it really just depends on what I fancy at the time. I am in the middle of making a leather sheath for my 9 after I got bored with the kydex one I made it awhile back. So you might find that you will eventually want both.
Oh, so you're a leather worker huh? I guess it will all come to me after it's been stripped and re-handled. I'm gonna post my bk5 up for sale to fund a sheath for my 12....I still have to pick up a 9 too!
I love your Bk5 91bravo!!!!! Dibs, or as they say on walking dead Claimed!!!!
All this talk about the Ritter Perseverance/BK12 got to me....I just agreed on a trade to bring (another) one into my hands.
Seems like some of us just ain't tryin' then, don't you think? Some of us have none and you have plural![]()
The more I think about this, the more wrong it seems...retiring that blade would be like retiring my number. Besides, while part of me wants to remove the thumb ramp, I think the knife looks a bit off without it...and the dip in the blade would bug me. (Even though I know it comes that way, I would forever feel like I botched the ramp removal.)Maybe after I swap the handles & take down the thumb ramp on the new one, I'll polish up my Beckerhead 12 (the serial number is my BH number) and let it go into semi-retirement.

Interestingly, as I'm sifting through my fixed blades deciding which ones should be posted for sale, none of the Beckers seem to make it to that list. I did recently trade off a 20; which didn't make much sense, but it seemed like the thing to do at the time. (It went to 91Bravo, so no real regrets.)
Eventually, I'll probably choose to sell the 4 & 5 that came with it; but the smart move there would be to wait until the perceived value goes up a bit.

This one was posted right out in the open, in Trades. I wasn't even looking for it - I was scrolling through New Posts - but he happened to be seeking a knife I've had for about 4yrs & never managed to put to it's intended use. All it took was a couple of emails.

Here's the link, for anybody that hasn't managed to get one yet.
What are y'all waiting for?
I'm new to all this but eventually even over the Interweb I will learn personalities I have a thick skin and a sick since of humor. Let it rip yea and these little faces are quite helpfull to meTanker 1/66
I was responding in kind. I should make the effort to include smilies - without them I'm easily perceived as a d***.
I have a similar stick... ain't and y'all are not in my vernacular, so I figured my playful tone was obvious. It is easy to forget that forum readers don't actually know such things.
