I still have the knife - today marks 1 week since it arrived.
I've been a bit busy with work all week, so it hasn't seen any use beyond kitchen duty, but I did post up some initial impressions with pictures of knife in hand.
tomorrow I'm going on a hike while SWMBO goes on a trail run and the knife will go with me.
as soon as I have a shipping address, it'll be on the way to the next contestant.
 
it hasn't shown up yet - so I sent you one through the forum software.
it was having issues a couple of months ago, I don't know if it ever got fixed.
OTOH, I think my email is still listed in a VM conversation about a knife sale on my profile.
 
Keep it long enough to get some quality time with it.
 
due to circumstances beyond my control, I was unable to get any pictures of the rule 9xxl in action on the hike -- but here's a pic of it on my sling pack, where it rode very nicely.

The Rule #9 XXL has landed in KY.

1st impression= WOW! Great design and excellent execution. I'll try to put it thru some passes and get some pics.

Haven't had it an hour and already putting it to work.

*Note- I am going to use this knife as if it where my own. I won't abuse it, but it's going to have to pull it's weight.

Task 1: opening dog food.



The Rule#9 XXL completed the job with no hot spots on my hands during use and no visible damage to the blade.

I expect you to use it like you paid for it. John made it so it will take a lot more than most of us will give it.

The 'Mudge will put it to use....I can feel it already....

Glad there were no hot spots cutting that heavy paper bag. You could easily have hit a chunk of dog food there. Scary. :p

In the 1st challenge I tested the Rule #9 XXL's ability to provide sustenance for our dogs. In case you forgot, it was able to open the bag of dog food and passed.

Tonight I tested the R9XXL's ability to feed my family.

I was able to slice a steak and cut it into child-size bites to feed my kids. Well done R9XXL, you passed another test.
