Rule #9 XXL World Tour 2016

Received tracking info. Looking forward to giving this a spin.

Enjoy it. Use it a lot, take lots of pics.

The XXL has landed, but I gotta run out the door. Pics and impressions later.
Still razor sharp though...

So when I got home tonight I told my wife the story of the Rule#9XXL's origin and then showed her the knife. Her response "I WANT ONE". It didn't get a lot of use tonight, just some minor veggie slicing.

more later...

I like her already.

Some pics and my initial impression.
Since most of my knives are EDC sized 6.5" OAL and smaller, I was concerned about the size of this knife. This went out the window as soon as I picked it up. The size, feel and balance of this knife are perfect.

Also, the tip up carry sheath is great too. :D

Some heavy duty slicing...

Fits perfectly in my knife block.

Looks right at home in that kitchen - nice block, by the way....

Haha - yes - tip only belt sheath; for those looking in out of curiosity that will be a puzzler.

Thanks for the pictures.

best

So, is it what you expected when you suggested it?

This has been a really busy week for me, so it has only seen some light kitchen usage. With that said, I am really enjoying it and look forward to owning one or both of it's smaller cousins. The one thing that it has changed my mind about would be owning a standard Rule#9. Since I live in the city, most of my knives are probably 6.5" or smaller in OAL and I would have considered the #9 as too big to carry, but after handling the XXL that concern is gone.

The XXL feels like it just belongs in your hand, which makes it very easy to hold and use.

Very cool. My original one will be buried with me. It's that kind of knife to me.

I've updated my above post with more info and wanted to add one more observation. For me in the past most knives with long blades like this have been blade heavy. That is not the case with here. The balance is perfect and I think that is one of the reasons that makes this knife easy to use.

I was really hoping for that. I'm a little weird when it comes to cutlery. Unless it's a chopper I like it to be handle heavy. It makes for a livelier cutter and more maneagable in my opinion.

Getting ready to send this on to the next person, which I believe is Mr. Jackson.
Please send me your address.
Thanks.

Hope you enjoyed it.
This is good timing. I may actually get to take it to the Beckerwest gathering in April.

Rule 9 XXL has arrived in Oak Forest. It's a knife of multiple personality for sure. More later.
