S30V Framelock / G10 Leek

I am no analyst, but I think you'd be able to get rid of a 1000 Ti framelock Leeks in ZDP at a $200 MSRP without much of a problem. Peopls buy Buck/Mayo 172's, Benchmade Skirmishes, Bradley Alias's, Kershaw Bumps ect. for that price every day.

Ti framelocks with good steels from reputable companies sell.

no doubt:D

Do you all really think a limited edition (500-1000 pieces) ti framelock Leek with ZDP would sell for the monies it would bring? I'm on the fence with a possible $200+ Leek. Thoughts?

Don't you all even start.;)

You would sell one right here when they are avalible! Tip-up please!

That sounds VERY nice! At a price of about $150 or so I would get one.

Ginshun, would it be possible to put one together with no steel liner on the G-10 side? I'm very interested in trying this, but I have a symmetrical personality, and the ifferent thicknesses of the scales would kill me. Thanks.

I'd buy a ZDP-189 Titanium framelock Leek in a second.

I think an MSRP of $200 might be a bit lower than it would cost, though. Niether titanium nor ZDP-189 are very cheap. And if it was a limited run, I think the street price wouldn't be too far under MSRP. I think a street price of $200 is realisitic. If I am wrong and it would be cheaper, GREAT!

I bought a titanium-handle, button-lock, ZDP-189 William Henry for $320 and it is worth every penny. So a Kershaw with A/O and the same materials would be a deal for $200.

Maybe I'll have to change my mind about staying under $200. The more I think about a Zdp-Ti Leek, the better I like it!!!

DITTO. Maybe in a half a second.

So is it the Ti-Frame, the ZDP blade, or both? The Ti frame would raise the MSRP. aprrox. $75.

Would a standard 410 frame lock w/ZDP blade bring the same interest from you all?

Looking forward to your input.

Thomas, I'm in either way. By far my favorite design, the perfect marriage between form and function. IMHO.

My opinion is both, Ti-Frame and the ZDP blade. Like someone earlier said, the more I think about it the better it sounds. I would love one. Ti-Frame would be cool.

Someone once told me "it only cost .50 cents to go 1st. class" meaning, if you're going to put ZDP-189 in the knife, you might as well go for the Ti also.
I'm in either way.

Both Thomas, all of the above, the whole ball of wax, etc. etc. etc!!!:D

I say keep this post at the top until we see some Ti with Zdp!

To be honest, I probably wouldn't spring $200 for it, but on the other hand, I know plenty of people would. I really am pretty serious about that modular thing, I think that would be really cool.

Spec Bumps are priced at $199.99 MSRP which is not bad at all; lots of people have bought them at that MSRP so a ZDP-189/Ti frame Leek near that price would definitevely sell.

I am first in line!

Id like to see both Ti and ZDP.

If you're gonna go, go all out.

And I am not sure it it would be possible to remove the steel liner and just have the G10 in the knife I pictured, I can't remember off hand, but I think all the AO stuff with the spring and cutout is on the lock side, so it should be possible. The G10 and the steel liner are glued together though, so I am not sure how you would get them apart.

I am not sure on that though, I'd have to take it apart again and look at it. It'd be tougher, thats for sure, and I am not sure how strong the G10 only side would be. Then again thats the way my SnG is, and that thing is a tank.
