S30V Framelock / G10 Leek

jlh2600, the frame on the Ti Leek will be drilled for tip up or down carry.

So, as long as you are going to have all that ZDP and Ti around Thomas, when are we going to see that JYD??

Kershaw's version of Tim G's Junk Yard Dawg flipper will be unveiled at the Blade Show in just a few short weeks. Should be a couple of sizes of them. They should ship sometime later this year.

I think there are "other" plans with what to do with all of our ZDP and Ti ;)

Thomas, just want to thank you for your quick and responsive replies, it shows you really care about your company and your customers and is a big reason why I enjoy Kershaw so much. I will be attempting to create my own s30 frame lock leek . .my first knife project . .please inform of any interesting news.

Thanks and best wishes.

Stephan, thank you and everyone on BF's for your support and kind words.

please inform of any interesting news.
Until we decide to dedicate toward our own forum, and out of respect for Spark, I don't and won't start Kershaw specific threads. I will respond to threads that I think need attention, but it is difficult to initiate information at this time. Plus, look what time it is, and here I am pecking away  (I have to be at the NRA show in 6 hours!
In any case, there is a bunch of hot products ready to roll for the 2nd half of 06 that I'm sure will be shared in due time.

Keep us informed on your first project, post some pics when you finish.

Well because of the voices here on BF's, a 1000 piece run of a Titanium framed, ZDP Leek will be produced, and delivered by mid June.

waynorth, 2 sizes of Tim's Junkyard Dog (manual action) will be debuting at this years Blade show. Details on spec's are currently being finalized, but it looks as if Sandvik 13C26 will be the steel of choice with these two. Sweet flipper pattern for sure.

How's the production of the leeks comming along? Looking forward to it, also . . .serrated (please say yes, please say yes).

Sorry Stephan, no combo's.

Production is going smooth, we lasered some ZDP and Ti last week. I haven't seen the production schedule for the upcoming week, but I would say we should start putting a few together in the next 7-10 days. So...we are getting close, and are right on schedule.

How did your creation come out?

Thanks for the interest, you know I haven't found what I am looking for just yet . . I am just so in love with the combo edge on my current leek, that I don't want to replace it with out one. knowing that I will buy this new leek that you are putting together, I figuered that maybe I'd hold my breath for a s30v combo edge leek. Not too pester you with another request, but I figured that it would come along at some point. I think you have seen my Kershaw collection and this new leek will be a total of three that I own.

It really is a great knife and I think that the combo looks and functions better that the other blade. I've yet to need to sharpen the combo section and only shapened the plain side once in two years, and it works great.

My dream leek would be a frame lock, polished steel, combo edge, with another steel option, be it cm154, s30v, ect . . I know you have said that is quite a challenge to do, or maybe not possible considering the steels properties. But that why it's a dream leek! If I could find the one that used to be available (440 I think) combo, polish, I'd buy that too!

Thanks again.
P.S. You know . .I have a feeling that I will eventually do it anyway . .it just so tempting knowing that you can personalize your own leek!

It's out there already!!!! Well sort of... buy the S30V Leek w/ combo edge and put the blade on the handle of a polished steel Leek. Voila! your dream leek.

Can't seem to find the combo s30v edge . .where did you see it?
Thanks . . .now I need another $150 to fall in love again.

i'll google again.
