• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

Sailors of the Sheepsfoot Main

Can't remember if I've posted this here before but if so, here it is again.

I hope that Case brings these "out of the vault" someday. There was a post on the forums long ago about someone who used one on the farm until it was worn nearly smooth out, compared with its brand new replacement. I have admired them since I saw it. Nice group!

A little late to the party!! A sheepfoot Barlow makes a good, pocketable rope knife, IMO!! Averaging about 3 3/8", you get an almost-antique as well!:D

Finally caved and picked up an Ankermesser. Been eyeballing these for a long time. I’m glad I took the plunge - this is a super nice knife. Snaps with authority, dead center when closed, no play when open, high level of F&F.

The tip is so sharp that it works well for piercing and the wide spine following it opens things up. Of course all that straight edge is great for slicing. 👍

Scored a sweet Case from the 'bay. Cleaned it up some put a good edge on it. Unfortunately sanding the covers to remove some scuffing and wood oxidation I all but lost the whaler stamp. But bought it for a user so not really a big loss to me.
A good looking user at that! To my eye, rope knives (or any honest day's working knife) look better when well used used for their intended purpose. I carry my whaler a lot, and the more I do the more it suits me!
