SAK + Others pics

SAK guy, I dig the old timers I see in your pictures from time to time, They are my favorite out of the schrade bunch and surprisingly to me the ones I own have better F&F then the schrade and uncle henry marked ones I have. Something about the saw cut covers do it for me too:thumbup:

An 8OT was my first knife. My dad gave it to me in about 1965 and it was lost in the big fire. Dad and all my uncles carried them so they have a special place in my memories. The F & F is perfect on all mine as well!

Forum member Syph007 made that, really great work

I have drooled over Syph's work many times before...

I almost ordered one about a year ago, but the cost to get a custom like that in my hands in South Africa is quite steep.

In the end I realised that I lose a few of the major advantages of a production alox SAK (for me at least) when I get a custom. Productions are
- cheap and great value for money
- easy to replace
- great loner / beater blade

This means I can use a production Pioneer or Farmer freely to pry and screw and poke and sharpen without fear of wear or damage or loss. The custom will most probably become a safe queen, and that would be just wrong!

For now I will just admire Syph's beauties from across the internet... :)

Thank you sir!

I'm with Brock at this point in time, but maybe some day…. ;)
Tom, that custom SAK is outstanding!:thumbup:
Are you willing to post a blades-open photo, or at least describe the tools you have in that beauty??

IMHO, that photo is in violation of the spirit of this thread, SAK Guy.
Your fine is to send one (or both) of the pictured knives to me; I'll be sending you shipping info ASAP! :D

Thanks for the tools-open shot of your custom, Tom. I agree with Capt. S about the tool selection!:thumbup:
Two blades, short & long, straight and with belly: check.
In-line Phillips: check.
Caplifter/Flathead driver: check.
And nostalgic can opener as a bonus :D

Thanks Capt and GT! I am really happy with it, and it sees a lot of use. In fact I didn't notice until after I posted the last pic how dirty it is, shame on me it really needs a cleaning.

This may become one of my most carried pairs, I am smitten with this John Lloyd, and love the Farmer.

Great pic of a couple of wonderful knives, Tom!!:thumbup:
I've seen photos of that custom in several places over the past day or two, but never had the time to congratulate you on your incredible score!
So, congrats, Tom, on an absolutely stunning new folder!!!:thumbup::D
For some reason, I REALLY like that "bullocks shield" with the big pivot pin, and as someone else remarked in some thread, it reminds one of a chess queen, which is cool IMHO.
Anyway, WOW!!
