Rekrapmij Rekrapmij what are you offering to help with the situation? Will you do a claim to USPS? Are you willing to send me 50% of the money I sent you? It's time for resolution now. I have been very open, straightforward and responsive since the beginning. Now it is your turn to step in, what do you intend on doing?

Lots to learn from this post .....
Yikes! This was close to the perfect storm
Thank You.

The seller is in receipt of $230 (rounded up to make the math part easier) while the buyer is out of both his finds and no knife (I am not a subscriber to one of them scamming the other one theories). Therefore the seller is only out his reputation while also risking getting banned eventually for what seems to be dragging on his feet hoping that it would fade (it will not).

Even if seller agrees to refund the buyer half right now, he will be out $115 but the buyer then will be out his other $115. Since we already know that it will have to be the seller who must start the insurance recovery process, if successful, he will gain back $110 so he will hardly be out of $ for something that he is mostly at fault. An honorable person in good conscience would even refund the buyer another $50 if insurance claim gets handled successfully. This way would be a true 50/50 split with minimal losses to both parties (seller keeps the postage paid out of the USPS refund which will be $100 + postage if seller is indemnified).

Thanks for you reply! I agree 100% with your analysis and I publically apologize for losing my cools. I am indeed hot tempered but I have common sense when I cool down. The seller has not contacted me on any platform so far. I will advise the group if he does.

If no one has any new information to share, let's please give the seller time to respond here regarding his intentions and actions so that we may determine the appropriate course going forward. Rekrapmij Rekrapmij , the ball is in your court and we need to hear from you on this.

This whole sour situation started off with an eBay transaction that both decided to move outside of eBay, violating the terms they both agreed to with eBay TOS. At this point, I can’t trust either party due to their willingness to violate terms they agreed to. Too bad they felt the need to drag BF into their mess.
This is not a violation of Ebay TOS. Ebay allows you to sell stuff on a separate forum and if necessary cancel the Ebay auction if the thing sells elsewhere. I had this knife for sale to anyone on Ebay and BF, and BF got it this time.

The buyer has ruined my reprutation on BF and is trying to do the same with Paypal and Ebay. I've given my pound of flesh. Now people want me to pay him money for doing this to me. Mayby I should say, "Thank youm sir, may I have another," too. No thanks. He's gotten more than enough compensation out of my hide.

Only Spark Spark manages the purse strings, and I've tagged him to make him aware of your request.

Since you feel that you have no additional or further responsibility in this matter, it's indicative of the need for both you and this community to go their separate ways.

Alright now youre just being silly. You packaged the knife poorly and it got lost, be a man and refund the buyer. Thats your responsibility as a seller. You've honestly done more to damage your reputation here than the buyer has.

This ^

It’s his attitude towards the whole thing - not the circumstances- that has me soured on him.

Just a clip from the link above:

Offering to buy or sell outside of eBay policy

Offering to buy or sell outside of eBay is not allowed. Buyers and sellers also can't share contact information, including email addresses and phone numbers, prior to completing a transaction on eBay.

Contacting another eBay member to discuss moving a purchase off eBay exposes both the buyer and seller to the risk of fraud. It also means both buyer and seller are not covered by our protection programs.

If you had jumped in and taken care of the situation as you should have, it would have enhanced your reputation, as someone who takes care of problems when they come up. You and you alone hurt your reputation.

From the following thread.

Part II: So you got banned...

We tend to be a very tolerant bunch here. If you get banned it's because you violated our terms of service. As such, you are not entitled to any refund of membership fees, unbanning, review, or warnings. By becoming a member of BFC, you accepted these terms when you joined so you have no room to complain if it happens.

I have been biting my tongue this whole time, and only commented here in the first place due to what you're about to read.

Now that there is some finality here (he just got banned, because he didn't step up, and I knew he wouldn't), I will share that rekrapmij has been on my "do not buy" list for some time. As he mentioned, he bought/sold a lot of Busse here. There is a lot of that action that happens behind the scenes, and is never listed on the B/S/T forum. I was tipped off to avoid this guy, due to poor comms, poor shipping practices, and bad descriptions of his goods, i.e. the knife having blemishes, etc. upon receipt that were not disclosed prior to the sale. I remembered the guy due to that dumb avatar he has of that political person.

Anyway, I am not surprised at the outcome here unfortunately. He's burned other folks here behind the scenes already (part of the reason his sales here have been so slow, despite having some desirable blades), and the dude probably should have been banned prior to this transaction. Unfortunately, the people he's burned in the past chose not to speak up. Sorry this happened to you S SimonLG

i'm starting to believe he shipped an empty envolope now, what a guy
I still don't think that's the case, but shipping like he does, this was bound to happen (again).

Guys! I must say that despite this mess with the seller I am quite happy about how the community came together and was involved to try to find a solution.

Maybe I lost some money but I have now discovered that I can trust most people on Blade forum which is great!

I apologize again for losing my cools publically and ranting at times. English is my second language and I can get hot tempered.

Overall I am happy with the resolution. He could have easily avoided the ban by simply being more responsive and proactive. I believe that he did this to himself.

Thanks again! I'll be more cautious next time and I'm looking forward to trade with this community.
