Sarsquatch.....What Happened???

I completely missed the dual textures on the slabs. It does look like a much different blade than the design, but I still dig it. With all that belly it reminds me of an old butcher knife. :D I am looking forward to getting one in hand at the show (crossing fingers) to see how she feels.
Speaking of that, how's the wife doing? Feeling better? You gonna be at Blade? :o

I like the Drawing better also........But as the o'l saying goes..IT IS WHAT IT IS. :(.......I'm sure I'll still get one.

so, no ones mentioned this yet - But this thing would be AWESOME at 3/8" thick.

super heavy satin jack chopper with a flat pommel for smashing and a heavier duty tip.

I was all over the prototype as well but now that i see the production I think I like the design on this HC LE better. So I got three. :D

Of course we will all buy at least one of the SarSquat,I just wish it was still a Sarsquatch.:(

The production Sarsquatch looks like it was made for those who want a chopper that is smaller than a FBM, but won't cost as much as an SH model. Of course the latter part of that statement will change really quick once this thing has come and gone and is only available on the forum shop at massively jacked up prices.

Anyway, I like the drawing better too but all I care about is it's usefulness and the fact that if I'm fast and lucky I can probably get one at a decent price, unlike anything else in its size range.

She is still hurting but I think she is going to tough it out. He OB has agreed to refer her to a specialist, so I guess that is her next step. I think she figures if I am going down there and spending the money on gas she is going no matter what. I imagine we will see for sure the closer it gets. I have a back up plan in case she decides otherwise, just have to get off my butt and flesh out details on that. I have been busy all day dealing with backed up floor drains in a kitchen and trying to get a job app filled out and filled before the dead line tomorrow. So far the drains are not clear and the app is not completed. Here's to another hectic day tomorrow.

i like it. i'd like it better if the tip dropped like in the sketch. i'll still get one (hopefully they'll be an actual offering since i won't be going to blade)

Yowza!!!. . . Either you guys are drunk or the pic that I posted is really screwed up. . . . I'll have to go with the pic.

The SARsquatch is so incredibly close to the initial drawing that I am dumbfounded by these responses . . . .

Only very minor modifications were incorporated after prototypes were made and problems with thumb ramp and palm swell locations were identified.

Here's the original drawing above a tracing from an actual SAR blank.

You can easily see that the palm swell was too far towards the butt end of the knife. Look at it in respect to the center handle tube.

We dropped the point of the blade just a fuzz as well in order to get it more centered with the handle.

IT IS A SABRE GRIND!!! The top of the grind stops approx 1/2" from the spine. It is a convex sabre grind. . . this gives enormous strength to a relatively thin 3/16" thick blade of such size.

The thumb ramp was also moved back a bit in order to facilitate folks who have thumbs that are less than 6 inches long! (Look at it in respect to the front guard hole)

SARsquatch Specs:
Blade = 7"
Blade width = 1 7/8"
Overall Length: 12 5/8"
Thickness = 3/16"
Coolness factor = Off the charts!!!

The SARsquatch DOES NOT have TAC handles. . . . They are a completely new design! They are, in my opinion, some of the most comfortable handles we have ever produced. Below is a drawing of both handles.

The SARsquatch is also nothing like a SJTAC. . . See pic below. .

The SARsquatch will have a huge following and those who miss out because of their misinterpretation of one pic versus a pencil drawing of the initial idea will have missed out on a killer blade.

I can assure you that I will not be posting any more of my pencil drawings in the future!!! Yowza!!!!

Let's drink!!!

Not trying to be negative, but there have been a couple of times when I saw the picture posted by Busse Combat, and wasn't interested. However, once forum members started posting their pictures I was kicking myself for not jumping. My guess is the lighting used by Busse Combat and the blade coatings hide a lot of the knife's details. Just my $0.02 :)

With the angle the photo was shot and with the coating hiding the saber grind....it does look quite a bit different than the original drawing.

Other than the swedge....I like the production model more than the original drawing. Besides...it is a convexed saber grind. Whats not to like? More for me please :D

This made me cry a little bit on the inside...

(I wish I could see the sketch -> prototype -> final blade process for all of your knives!!!)

I'm with ya TUK. . . . I take a lot of the pics and I'm usually hammered. . . so what looks good to me has been filtered through a bucket of bourbon!!!!

I guess what I'm saying is that if you want to really know what our knives look like, you need to be pretty drunk when you look at the pics!!!

I need to get Lunde to move to Ohio!!!!! :D

Looks like a big bellied knife for sure. Maybe a little work grinding down the spine (like Skunk did on the BM when he removed the scallops, I think it was him?) and it will be very very close to the concept drawing. Problem as always is trying to imagine what it would feel like. I've bought so many knives that look good but felt so bad in my hand i've moved them on within a week.

I looked at it and i'll be honest i'm in two minds about this one. The first thing I thought of was that someone will buy this to convert into a big kitchen knife. If you strip her and possibly grind off the front guard hole then this could be a beauty for any big joints of meats you need cutting.

Bottom line for me will be the price compared to any other offerings in Ganzaa.

Jerry, just keep on bringing your designs! You have never yet missed the mark, IMHO!
Wish I could make it to Atlanta for a couple of these beauts. Sigh...
