Saudi customs result in a bum Scarab

Sorry to hear about this CM, too bad. I'm trying to think up devious ways to get back at him. Can't really come up with much right now, I'll sleep on it.

He's in Saudi Arabia right? Send him a box of porn, bacon, a blow up doll, some Rushdie books, a Christian bible, the Tanach for good measure and a bunch of assorted red objects.

I can see it now, like a Mel Brooks movie if he was a Saudi. The hay'ah playing the straight men and the Saudi scammer playing a mad man trying to explain. Maybe I'm just punch drunk but I think its hilarious!

Oh man,That sucks! :thumbdn:I know what it feels like to be scammed.I can't write anymore without cussing up a storm.I'm sorry for you Charlie Mike.:(

He got me too, I have been in contact with Charlie Mike, and he got my Infidel......oh the irony;)

This SOB has to have something coming, anyone up for a long distance call?

This just leaves a bitter taste in my mouth, I had a great experience with my first two trades, and he happened to catch me in the midst of those. I thought nothing of it, until a fellow BF member that plays COD 4 with me alerted me to this thread.

The thing that drives me nuts is that he had sent it based on a "gentlemans agreement" between the two of us. What a low life @**hole.......

Now wouldn't it be truly ironic if CM's scarab really was damaged in transit. Might our Saudi scumbag scammer have ended up with a dead knife? If only...

My question to all the Americans here.....

Why do we keep sending our nice autos, especially Microtechs - overseas to places like Saudi, Russia, and other Middle Eastern countries???? I know we all need to make our money, but come on......MT's are limited enough, let alone sending them overseas never to be seen again. There are PLENTY of people here in the US that would appreciate an opportunity to buy a Microtech. I've seen numerous MT autos sold to people from overseas with one (1) post under their belt!!!! Frankly, it really pissses me off. I think MT should put a "no export" clause on their stuff......just like Magpul does. This post is not meant to offend anyone......just a question and my opinion.

Thanks

I think that's a very good idea. I see the same no export on the Warren Thomas site.

When the eagle craps on the 31st, I'm going to our local sex shop to pick up some male+male spank mags. I'll send them 4 weeks from 3-11-09, the date he "shipped" my Emersons.

Why not have some fun with this guy? From here on out when he contacts any BF member the BF member should act REALLY thrilled to 'want to trade with a foreigner', stating they never have before. That's the bait, then you offer him the knife you have up, that's the hook. Instead send him some of the mentioned items, plastic knive from taco Bell, etc! Why not turn this aggravation into BF entertainment? Just because the guy lives in Saudi does not mean he is a Saudi by birth....

type00rev, I'm sure you feel strongly about this, but I really don't see the point in trying to police the sale or trade of certain types of knives. I've had some very good trades and sales to international members. To date, have only had one international package go missing and the USPS eventually paid up with my insurance claim.

When I needed to sell a few knives last year, international folks stepped up and made me good offers. I would have gladly sold to US folks, but they weren't buying at the time.

So let the knives go where they will. Just be smart about who you sell or trade to. The Saudi scammer has developed a rep on Bladeforums and a simple search should pull up info on him (and if you aren't a paying member, use the Google search method). That's how I confirmed my suspicions when he contacted me a few weeks ago.

And if the deal seems too good to be true ... don't rush into it.

As far as I'm concerned, it's not Americans against other countries, it's knife knuts together. Use the same care in dealing with Saudi Arabians, Russians, and other people as you would with people here.

You're going to have to do better than that. I have no idea what your last post means, no idea at all. You really should think about it before making suggestions that sound like you're encouraging illegal behavior.
