Savson Swords & Knives reliable?

I do have compassion for Randy and I wish him well. But my intent and most of us on this forum that are expressing our negative experiences is to warn others not to order anything from SSK at this time because you may not get your order in a timely fashion and you might even loose a few dollars in the process. I believe he should just stop taking orders right now and shut his site down until he can regain his health. Seeing as how many believe he is an honourable person, the emotional stress he must be experiencing knowing that many of his customers thinks he is a crook is not good for his recovery.

Thanks for the response. I do agree with you. He should just bring things to a halt for right now, for the good of everybody. I also agree that the forum is a great place to warn other potential buyers about about the situation. It was just disheartening to see some of the more hurtful things that were being said about Randy, because those comments have nothing to do with helping other buyers at all, they only do more damage, which isn't fair or compassionate in any way.

I ordered a $198 Cold Steel knife from Savson Swords and Knives on
Dec. 30, 2007 and as of Feb. 5, 2008 I have received nothing other than an order confirmation email. They charged my credit card immediately upon order. I have tried to contact them by email with no success. I tried contacting them by phone with the number provided by my credit card company. I got a message saying the phone had been disconnected.

I guess I am out $198. Bummer.

You may still have time to file a "dispute" with your credit card company. There will be a special address and you need to state that you have not received the goods you were chaged for. Check on this ASAP.
 
I've ordered over a dozen knives from randy at Savson.
All came promptly with excellent service and communication.
He had hit a little bump in production when he was sick.
I just ordered another knife again this week.
I can not say I was not hesitant, but the knife shipped immediately.
They have a new site and seems like they are back in action.
The best prices and service I have seen. IMHO.
 
He also has a newly updated website and phone number listed. That is a step in the right direction. Hopefully things are getting better.

Wow this COMPANY is dirter than IslandTactical.com that screwed me over.Even after years of loyalty.Promise after promise with no intention of delivering.

I visited their website and I see why you guy get trapped like this.Their prices are super low,lower than anybodys and margins are paper thin.Just look at the site reminds me of a similar place I use to purchase from Island Tactical,their pricing strategy is identical.I bet they even offer special discount of a further 3-10% extra.

Never again. trying to get my money back through the bank. amobhitman.com a little more responsive but 3 weeks after the order i finally get it and it is the wrong one. i would stay away. both are unreliable.
 
Hello I was just wondering if anyone else has had any problems getting the Spyderco Szabofly from Savson Swords and Knives. I ordered it back at the beginning of August and I still have not recieved it. Does anyone know Randy Manley or how to get in touch with him because he is not answering my emails? It looks like a few other people have had the same problems.
 
i have news on savson their phones are still down and they still dont reply to emails and, they still arent sending any tracking info on orders. kind of bummed out wish i would have joined you guys sooner. maybe i wouldnt be hassleing with my credit card co. about the order i placed with them.
