Saw the Ti Millitary at the Blade show today.

Glad I read this, that means there is still time!
Move the clip on the Ti Military for tip up carry!
Other than that, it looks great!
Never in a million yrs will I understand why the Military is tip down only.
Especially on a frame lock model. BM did the same with their M4 Lum.
I just don't get why anyone would muddle up a frame lock with a clip.
Not to mention the vast majority prefer tip up.

Plus
It will save life on my Bit's & Taps.

Looks like we have a bright future with Spyderco.:D

The whole reason I favor the Millie is because it is tip down carry. i will never understand why anyone would want tip up. It take two steps to open the blade as opposed to one step with tip down. With a large knife like the millie it is even harder to get to the spydie hole on the other end. While with tip down, you already have your thumb on the hole to open it as soon as it clears. I am a CCW gun guy and having your hand on the weapon is the most important things. Imagine wrestling on the growund with a criminal over a gun. Imagine how hard it would be to get to your knife with one hand as it already is.

Anyway, I know this is off subject and i just wanted to say i favor the Millie because of tip down. Most of my knives are tip tip up (hinderer, Sebenzas, Striders) and i can't stand that they ONLy make them this way. The Millie has the advantage to get it right imo.

Any info on the Dyad2?

They really need to bring it back.

wings are for the birds

What's the TeroTuf stuff on the Military? Maybe there's some tool steel sandwiched in between the handle slabs? :)

In the upper right-hand corner of one of the pictures you can see the Bradley folder that is supposed to be using M4...

I already had the Manix2 on my to-buy list, but now it's flat ground? Damn... have to move it to the top now. So much interesting stuff coming out....

More pictures!! :D

"i will never understand why anyone would want tip up"

Its easier to open / faster thanks to gravity.
No need to re-grip after its out of your pocket.

To each his own....... But I would guess its about an 80/20 split.

Only if the pivot is set loose enough to flick.
And you still must readjust your grip a tad, even on tip-up.

Who's the "vast majority"? (In the spirit of this post I'm going to post a poll over in GD)

I very much prefer the tip down only carry on the Military and wish it would never change. It's functional, gives you a nice tab to grab onto, secure, curves against the seam of your pocket.

I also think that if left handed people want a millie, Spyderco should make dedicated left hand models for them. I'm ambidextrous so it doesn't matter much to me, but even if the clip were movable you'd still have the liner lock.

Are these pictures... uh, "allowed" to be posted? I've never seen pictures of most of these concept models and was under the impression that they were not supposed to be posted.

I believe so. I'm pretty sure we wouldn't have the pictures if it wasn't okay.

Thanks for the pics! I sure hope the Ti Millie is *not* combo edge when it comes out.

They do have left hand millies coming out.

I went back to the show today but left my camera. There were a lot more new concept knifes and prototypes out (maybe about 30 more) and some were much better than anything I posted. Spyderco is going to come out with some incredible stuff . But some of it we will never see in production. Still they are on top of the ball.

I really think I did Spyderco a disjustice by not getting more pics of the knives that had on display. I took the pics as they were putting them in the case before the show yesterday and today there was a hell of a lot more. I wish i had my camera today to show you what I am talking about. Sorry.

Wow, Ti Military, that would be awesome.

Here is hoping Spyderco makes it happen! :D

I did hear about a sprint run of lefty millies. Hopefully I get a job and can buy a lot of the regular S30V ones before the Crucible goes out of business or they change the millie. Whichever comes first.
