Saw the Ti Millitary at the Blade show today.

This is such a great show. What blew my mind was the new sage.....unbelievable blade, simply gorgeous.

Just an explanation. I've removed all of the images posted of prototypes and concept models. I waited because I wanted to confirm with Sal regarding permission. Permission was not given for those images to be posted. It was understood that they were for personal use and would not be posted anywhere. It's unfortunate that they were.

We bring prototypes and concept models to shows because we value the feedback that can be gained. Many of our designs need to be felt in hand, so images don't usually do them justice. A concept model may never be made or it might make it to production, but be completely different than the concept originally created.

To clarify some of the comments. The Manix2 will NOT be FFG, it is hollow-ground. We are working on a Manix2 with different materials that may be FFG, but nothing is final yet.

The etching on the Dragonfly hasn't been determined yet. We have a few samples that we're considering and taking feedback on.

The Digicam Police3 is just a concept model.

The Ti Millie is a PlainEdge.

:eek::eek: I guess I was wrong in my assumption that permission had been given.

On the other hand, pictures posted on a forum like this reach a broader public and probably the feedback you get from them is even more valuable. I mean, we can't all go to Atlanta, right?
About the Manix II: how can it not be FFG if the Pilot is? Follow up to the previous question, how can I buy one of those FFG pilots?

That's not the pilot. The pilot model is hollow ground.

Actually, some of the knives from the Pilot run were FFG. The decision to go hollow-ground was made during that run. So, there's a few FFG out there.

Concept comes first, then Prototype, then Pilot. Until we start actual production, changes can be made through all of these stages.

Ah. I have been following http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=633968, and it seemed like the official "pilot" version was hollow ground.

Hey, you know, if anyone with a FFG pilot decides, on the off chance, that they don't have a use for it.... I'd be more then happy to use it extensively. :D

The pictures were re-posted in the General Knife Discussion forum. I removed them with the same comment you used here: Images Removed - Permission was not given for these pictures to be posted.

So, why would they write "Pilot -50 Pcs" on it?

I stand corrected. As I said, it was my understanding, from the information provided at the time by both Spyderco and people directly connected to the Manix 2 Pilot run, that the decision had been made to use a hollow grind before the pilot run was made.

As always, Thank You!!

Talk about the Tero Tuf Millie, what is this ghandle Material and will this Millie Version come out?

I'm not worried, I'll see the ti Millies soon enough when they come out, cause I'll have bought one, that might kick my Sebbie out of my pocket. Haven't even seen it yet, and am excited.

If anyone saved a pic of the Ti Millie on their hard drive, could you please e-mail me a copy of it. It will be for my eyes only! Thanks, TK

IMHO, the whole concept of a secret is that people shouldn't hear about it in the first place. Anything else is just jerking people around.

I agree 100% with what you said, if they wanted these knives secret, why take them to Blade to a Public event! Just does not make sense to me.
