Ask seller to cover shipping cost or do first class shipping, its like $5. I dont think seller was describing his item as better than it was to get one over on someone, seems like a lapse of judgement. Poor description of an item is not equivelant to theft of 200-300 dollars.

No I wouldn’t have had any problem with that. He was the one that negotiated the terms not me cause I assume the intent being why.

And what do you expect from us? Are we supposed to make you whole somehow? Take him to court? Go to his house and beat him up?

We've tried to get an airing of the facts here and the bottom line is that there is fault to find on both sides...and insufficient proof of fraud...despite whatever conclusion conjecture or theory may lead us to.

Our only available ways of addressing matters are, at most, banning members whose behavior calls for it.

It may come to that yet...but so far, we've been weighing the information we have to work with. I don't know what else you expect.

Well and now you’ve found out the hard way that you can hustle for a while, but you eventually piss someone off and they put a lighter in the box.

Like I said: Neither of you are blameless here, but watching you drag this on trying to form some sort of clique against the guy is truly the best example of “beating a dead horse”. I’ll never conduct a transaction with either one of you honestly.

Seems the band wagon is more pressed believing his description of the knife vs what my belief of the condition was. Yet not many seem to think it’s wrong to keep the damn thing cause he wasn’t pleased

I think you erred in your description, which you've admitted to...but I don't think that the knife was trashed...and besides, that's no longer in dispute. So, let's move past that.

We have not yet proven that he has kept the knife because he was displeased...even if some of us may believe that.

I certainly couldn't walk into the U.S. Attorney's Office back in the day and attempt to get them to prosecute on the scant facts, (let alone evidence), that we have here. There's no proof beyond a reasonable doubt. Suspicion? Sure, boatloads. Proof...not so much.

I do not think his antics have been honorable, with his playing a cat and mouse game with what he will do, and what he won't do, and then laying conditions on them. Moving the goalposts is complete bullshit...and coming from a guy who was trying to tell other forum members what the right and manly thing to do is, is laughable.

So, I agree with you that he is not someone I would ever deal with...buying or selling. And I applaud you doing the right thing by returning his money.
And if I could prove that he kept the knife and your money, I'd ban him yesterday.

As it is now, if he gets banned it will be for his b.s. antics, and failure to keep his word. Some of us still consider that a sacred bond.
 
I have a question about the photo evidence:

Why did it cost over $13 to send 5.9 ounces from KC (64118) to TN (37051)?

Flat Rate Priority Mail would be just over $9.

Researching, I can answer my own question:

Flat Rate is $9.45, with insurance added ($3.85) it is $13.30 postage cost.

In light of additional information which has come to light but which will not be published here, the member daKCbeast has been banned (permanently) by the moderation staff unless and until further information is disclosed of an exculpatory nature. Well it’s apparent from past comments from members here that this situation has tainted my reputation here, however for what it’s worth i can still show pics of knife i sent that the condition was not what he described and some here still give me some faith in interactions as I’ve never done anyone wrong here to the level he was accusing me of. I’ve always honored any deal that left someone unsatisfied. And have never ever scammed anyone as accused me of.
