Hi guys. So I got scammed out of my brand new Microtech Socom Elite.

I have it posted on forums for trade and lazy otter emailed me and said he had Hinderer xm-18 3.5 warnie and wanted to trade. We talked on email back in forth. Agreed to ship on same day.

I dropped mine off last Wednesday and he didnt ship his. Made all types of excuses. Like - Rain damaged label and he had to print new one, Had to take meds, no car and needed ride, mad girlfriend, etc. Stalled and made excuses for 3 days until Saturday and that is when my MT was delivered. Time stamp shows that his package was picked up at the same time mine was delivered. He said girlfriend shipped it and he was out of town. Than later changed his story that he shipped it... So many emails with countless rant and excuses.

Fast forward to today. His Package shows up today and I find inside OLD Box cutter and some rusty old tiny cheap fixed blade.... scammed.

He is still making excuses after excuses and keep changing story. Now he is saying he shipped it and not GF. Just wild excuses.

( I have to admit deal was too good and it was first red flag. But he had 20 good feedbacks on bladeforum and 2 bad. There was red flags all over after I shipped mine out, but I wanted to trust him and give him benefit of the doubt, but .... yup scammed)

I have his name and Address and all email communications. I will call my and his local Police Depart and file fraud case. I will also go to USPS and see if I can get their investigators to look into this Mail Fraud.

I shipped my Socom Insured and With Signature confirmation if it makes any difference.

I tried to email him few times and reason with him asking that he should ship me my Microtech back. But he is just turning around making up more stories and getting nasty.

Here is what came in the mail instead of promised Hinderer XM-18 3.5 Warnie with extra scale, bronze spacers and Hinderer factory tool.

Why don't you show them the pic of the box the knife originally shipped in with the shipping label taped on? It was a white USPS box with the label clearly tapped on it!
 
Nice for you to Join in Nick. You can show me all the boxes in the world with labels taped to it. You can go to your usps account and reprint same label as many times as you want.

Label on the box that I got from you today with crap in it has a nice label that was printed and attached to this specific brown box with tape on most of the face of it. I doesnt look like it was removed from any other box and retaped.

First you said that you think you gf shipped it on Saturday.... than later today you change your story and say keep my gf out of it and you shipped and gave it to mail man. you are biggest lair and scammer. And you again tried to turn it around and say that I am trying to scam you. Only after you got my Microtech on time, without delay with insured mail and signature confirmation.

wow that is a heinous scam. Also mail fraud which is a federal crimee, get the post office involved!
 
He says he originally sent it in a white box! As if someone switched the label to another box? Little does he know any box that isn't one of their flat rate gets measured for dimensions to get an accurate rate. So just call usps and see what the measured dimensions were at the time of shipping. If he's telling the truth it'll be different than the size box you have.
 
I hope everything works out the way that it should. Not really any of my concern, but something like this is not what should go on.
 
sounds like some shenanigans to me....on who's side I cannot say. But both have good feedback and this clearly cannot be an issue of misunderstanding. Someone is lying, best of luck to all involved.
 
Unfortunately it's your word against his. No one can prove what was in the box when it was shipped, so unfortunately you are going to be out of a Microtech. This is the HUGE problem when doing trades, you have to hope the other person does the right thing or your out of luck.
 
Geeze, scamming someone out of a freaking knife!!! You are not a Lazy Otter but a THIEF Otter!!!

I hate thieves, and hate the crap they spew to try to cover up their crimes. He blew his own case by claiming the box was different. No one put the original shipping label on a different box to cover up their misdeeds.

Send this guy his Microtech back and blame your Girlfriend, Mother, sister, neighbor.

Claiming someone switched boxes seems foolish on a tool forum.
 
Lazy otter tried to trade me the SAME Hinderer he used to scam you. I was interested but passed, thank sweet baby Jesus.


He has a history here of sketchyness I do believe.


Lazy otter, return this guys knife. Is it worth the police coming to your house? And a potential federal investigation?

No way did that label come off any other box. Heck, i cant even clean labels off to actually RE-USE a box, much less somehow magically get one off perfectly.

Something smells funny.

I'm curious how this will turn out. A few hundred dollar knife is not worth jail time.

Flag the sale post so he can't sell it. This dude can't be serious?!? Selling the knife in question while he's being called out for scamming? WOW
