SCAMMED out of Microtech on trade by lazy otter - Nick Reynolds, Richmond VA

Am I reading this wrong; He writes of the need for a Hinderer for a "buddy" and is ultimately gifted one. With no other deals on BFC involving a Hinderer he somehow has one to trade/sell??
Oh, and a brain injured "vet" who has never served in the Armed Forces but claims he has supposedly has a fellow Warrior also injured whose wife passed away and who is now left with two "beautiful daughters". Are there not more important things Soldier(NOT) Otter could do for his fellow Warrior than scam.................per around BFC looking for a knife? Maybe the Beautiful daughters could use Louis Vuitton handbags??

And...................Lazy Otter alleges the OP took a photo of a different box with the original shipping label perfectly attached in an attempt to do what? Because;
Who ships a pristine Microtech Socom to perpetrate a scam, would it have been criminally smarter for the OP to ship these crap knives to Lazy Otter instead of saying he received them?

Some help here with my confusion would be appreciated, I keep hearing a Duck quack!!!

It could have been any one of us dealing with Douchey Otter instead.

I've dealt with the OP before and he is a stand-up guy. I hope you get a good resolution to this crappy situation. It's not much consolation but take comfort from the fact that at least you've probably saved a lot of others from getting scammed by this POS. Thank you for exposing him!

The solution is quite simple at this point, pursue mail fraud charges. Make an example out of an obvious scum bag. He deserves the punishment, and people kind of need a poster child of an example why you DON'T want to screw around with mail fraud.

The problem is this is far from the first problem with this guy. He was still trading up until the end of September.

I understand why he is not being banned right now. This current situation needs to be figured out and then hammer away. But what about the last two times? And for the time being perhaps a banner could be made to go at the top of his posts warning people not to deal with him and linking to all his GB&U shadiness.

He is still active here. Over in the Busse group he started a thread trying to get people together for a camping trip. This trip is going to happen at the end of November, Do you think they would like to go camping with this guy if they knew all the trouble he is causing and what a scammer he is?

Let's not forget the member in the (closed) GBU thread started yesterday. He says he sent his knife to lazy otter 2 months ago and still has not received his knife either.

I don't know if it was an attempted scam or just playing games but I went through a trade deal with Otter a few months back and nothing went well. He claimed massive malfeasance at the post office where he lives along with girl-friend and income problems and talked of his service related disability. He had received my part of the trade on time but at first claimed it hadn't been delivered. I started to feel it was going totally upside down so I psyched him a bit. I didn't accuse him of anything but mentioned I was reporting the bad guys at his post office to the authorities. I then recieved a valid tracking number and a few days later the package arrived completing the deal. At that time I thought it was just a plot to see what I sent before he sent his. Nothing lost so I blew it off.

Oh the webs we weave............What comes around folks............

This is one of the most effed up deals I've read about and one of the reasons in always leary of higher dollar deals. That's really sad too because both my Sebenzas were perfectly smooth timely transactions both with upstanding members.

This member, (I use that term loosely) needs to rectify and stop trading/buying/selling and become a member who definitely reads more and posts none.

I can't believe we are doing this again. Maybe I'm wrong but I think if you screw over 1 member here you should be gone but this guy keeps doing it.

I fell for his excuses at first but now I know they are all BS.

This is horrible. I once sent a medical kit to the wrong guy when I was selling a seb 25. I immediately sent the guy his 450$ back and on top of that the 25 went to the guy from ebay that purchased the ten dollar kit. Was all good after that.
Lazy otter, just send his knife back or pay for it. Accident or not.
I feel your pain , my ti lock has been missing for a over a day and I think I lost it.

There were some tip offs to this guys character from the get go. I, like many people on this forum, am a combat veteran (Vietnam, to be exact). I don't know one of my fellow vets or any of their children and grandchildren who are veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan who would use that bullshit line for sympathy. Most of us would rather chew on a mouth full cyanide laced glass before we'd stoop to that level. The only action this boy ever saw was my neighbors game boy "Call of Duty" game. I've had friends that were a bit neurologically screwed up and not one of them has a lapse of principles, let alone, total lack of honor. Those of you who know someone or have seen live fire yourselves look around. Ever known any of your friends, acquaintances or fellow vets to pull something like this?

I remember reading the posts on this guy in June when he was pulling the PayPal scam. You reap what you sow. This is the kind of boy that runs around preaching anti-gun crap and then when TSHTF he wants the men with the guns to protect him from the bad guys. Good luck with that.

And good luck to you sir, the OP, in hopes that somewhere in all this you get compensation AND justice.

Some things may be better off not posted.
You may be tipping off the bad guys while innocently trying to help.
A simple "only ship to PayPal verified addresses" would suffice.

I'm certain for every bad situation like this you hear about on here there are 50 or so good deals that occur. That being said I have noticed an uptick lately on this type of behavior.
I was going to list a "thinning the herd" type of sale as I feel my collection has gotten a bit out of hand lately. These recent hits have made me decide to postpone.

Best of luck to those ripped off by these scum bags. I hope it works out for you.

I hope this one is now in the hands of the authorities. Once the mods have done what they can it's best to hand it over to the experts to look into. With the potential mail fraud (?terminology), false pretences etc it'll give someone some work.

The trade is the trickiest form of exchange. If you are selling, you are in control of the deal and should have no worries. These negative situations get a lot of press(as they deserve), but they are a very small % of the transactions and those at fault are soon weeded out.

A number of people fell for his excuses.

His first couple feedback threads had folks jumping in and defending him. Some even saying that they would not even open a thread for the situation.

I guess even they have seen his true colors now.
