Sounds good, may even be true that these are Federal crimes, try to find anyone interested.
I submitted a claim with the USPS for a situation basically identical to this one on 12/14/2012. To date I have heard zero, zip, nada from the USPS about it.
In a completely unrelated deal I lost $2200 to credit card fraud. I had names, phone numbers, and addresses (including the one I shipped to with a signature) and no one was interested in pursuing it. Not my local law enforcement, not law enforcement where the scammers lived, not the bank issuing the card, not the actual owner of the card used. I even did some of my own digging and found someone with the same name used in scamming me had been arrested in a credit card fraud ring less than a year before.
Scamming, especially with stolen credit cards/ID, seems to me to be a fairly low risk criminal endeavor.
If someone who has actually gotten any traction getting these alleged Federal laws enforced would post some constructive advice I know we would all appreciate it greatly.
Most federal law enforcement entities only want to take a case if it's something that would make a good news article.
If you want more feds to pursue more cases, be prepared to pay more taxes to hire more fed law enforcement agents. That's just the truth of it.
There's a reason most Fed LE agencies are so understaffed and underfunded, its to keep them in check and from encroaching where they don't or shouldn't belong.
The last thing you want is the fed govt taking over where local govt should be the controlling party.

If you want someone to pursue your relatively small cases you have to get an assistant US attorney or the media interested in the area where jurisdiction applies. Trust me on this. I deal and have dealt with this quite often. Any District or US Attorney (the ones who ultimately decide if a case gets pursued) is only really truly interested if it brings votes or political capital. Make your case interesting to them and they'll find the appropriate entity to move on it.
