And that is why a vague answer with what type of gun you shoot intruders with is an excellent response in these sort of threads. Unless of course you are like some and don't mind people walking in and taking your stuff

My parents live in a gated community that has a guarded main gate and a guarded secondary gate for their particular group of houses. In 2018 a couple of dudes in a truck went through both gates giving fake ID's claiming they were visiting my parents. My parents and my sister were not at home. In 1 hour they took every valuable, every jewel and most small electronics(laptops, cellphones, etc).

Curiously, I still have part of my collection in my parent's house. The thieves checked it out but for whatever reason they did not take it. Not one knife or dagger. But, they could have taken them all for sure.

Sounds like your parents should be getting a refund on this association fees...Did they ever catch the guys?

My two most precious knives are hidden among shelves of junk in plain cardboard boxes.

If they got stolen - homeowners insurance.

If someone enters my house, while I’m home, with the apparent intent to commit a felony? .40 and/or .223 depending on how much warning I get.

Also - the rest of my babies are scattered around the house, so unless they take EVERYTHING, I’ll have some of my favorites left after a burglary.

Yup! For years, until recently, the Patek name, despite being more luxury than Rolex (I don't know watches, folks, best verbiage I can come up with for these sort of Veblen goods) did not share the accolades, because it wasn't rapped about. There was a train robbery, all the Rolexes got jacked, but a guy with a Patek went overlooked, as well as some other WAY nicer watches.

That's gone, though. They rap about Patek now, and once they start rapping about Patek, they're known.
