Schatt & Morgan?

I've got 12 Queens or Queen built, all good, except 1 #69 Barlow. As close as I could measure the back spring was .012 thicker than the blade and that caused the blade to rattle. I sent it to Queen, politely explained the issue and three weeks later I had a replacement, problem solved.

This closely resembles my experience with Queen. I've gotten a couple of knives I wasn't happy with. They were definitely usable, and 99% of the population wouldn't have noticed the problems, so probably not as big of an issue as your 69. However, the large majority of my Queens have been up to snuff. I have had nothing but good experiences when interacting with the crew at Queen. In my experience, their knives have improved dramatically over the course of the last couple of years.

After talking to them I'm under the impression that when the Daniels bought the company there was a good sized stock of parts that had already been made. In order to keep the company running they had to use those parts in their knives while they transitioned over to new standards. This explains why I'm seeing a gradual improvement instead of a sharp cutoff date between the knives that had some problems and the newer knives with less problems. I'm really optimistic that they are just going to keep improving.

I've heard that before thanks for bringing it up again.
Traditional patterns and modern steel is what I like these days, so like you I'll remain optimistic.

Very nice look to that lock-back, seems to have good finish and decent Stag. Is it D2? 154?

Thanks, Will

Anybody know if there was ever a Quart sized Gunstock with a single blade? Seems like it would be a hit, i'd love to see one with a spear blade and their birds eye maple covers. The two blade stag knife is just too thick and heavy.

I just recently recieved this Schatt & Morgan #21 Equal-end Whittler, AKA the mini muskrat. It is a wonderful little knife and very well made.

New gift from my son in law Max. I'm very pleased with this one. 1095 steel and very good fit and finish. I found a couple of minor things like one bolster is a touch longer than the other (barely noticeable), but they are all insignificant. I gave the bolsters and a the blade a satin treatment to tone it down a bit.

very nice! im enjoying the clip in winterbottom returned from KSF the bone has a very similar appearance to yours, and that satin finishing is much better with the bone's tone. some of the winterbottoms came much shinier for some reason. not sure if that is due to extra polishing with compound, or just overall finish of the run. shame they dont have a site with the details like GEC does

Queen and S&M typically use that high polished look on most of their knives. I like them a bit more subdued.
