Scout knife callout!

I picked up this old Boker utility 6 blade scout today at a pawn/gun shop, for $25. Took a good cleaning as it was clogged with lint and dirt, but in pretty good shape. Tang stamp sez Boker, SOLINGEN, Germany-Alemania. Scales look like brown bone, but I THINK they are some sort of dark brown composition. It's neat how the little "tree" is stamped on the can opener and screwdriver/bottle opener as well as both cutting blades. There's even still bluing in the hollow of the punch. Wonder how old this knife is?? I see what you guys are saying about old carbon steel blades, a few minutes on the ceramic crock sticks, and I screwed up and cut the top of my thumb and bled all over the place, it do be SHARP! :D

Nice Boker Phil! It looks in great shape!

Heheh, yeppers, Phil, that top of the thumb area, especially right behind the nail, bleeds plenty. Been there myself. I think anyone who uses and sharpens knives much has garnered more than a few nicks and cuts.

Good collection of old Scouters guys. Like many, I wish I still had that old scout knife I won back when I was a Cubby.

How old are ya, Amos? Ebay turns up the right one for most of us old Scouts pretty quick. It's not yours, but it can at least be the same knife.

Good call, Dave! The blade on the HS&B is really heavy. And the writing on the shield is identical. Thanks!

Okay, I want to play.

Here's a Case Boy Scout edition 62087 two blade pen in olive green bone, with the BSA insignia box:

And here's one of those big honkin Camp/Scout knives on the Remington frame. I don't know the Remington pattern number, but I'm sure someone here will. This one is from the Camillus Classic Cartridge series, and measures in at 4 3/4" closed:

I have one of those Dwight Devine ulster scouts. The liners have an engraved pattern on the backs. Do your ulsters have the same thing?Too bad my master blade is broken in half.

Well, here's a Camillus, with an SAK. How did that Case get in there instead of my Scout Whittler?

Different angle, with an old S&W to boot.

Here's a 5 blade scout type knife made by Ulster for Abercrombie and Fitch, the famous outfitters.

Geat bunch of scout knives folks! Here's one that I just picked out of a box of knives in an antique store. It's a Camillus signal scout knife. Unfortunately the images of different signals have been worn off the handles:( . It has the four line Camillus tang, as well as the sword brand stamp:

Thats a wonderfull selection of scout knives! Brings back many memories of our scout troop and Mr. Van. The scout knife my dad gave me at age 12 is still in the family, my number three issue has it today.

Good show!:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Great knives everyone. This is a scout style by Camillus and a Scout fixed-blade from the world Jamoboree in Sweden 1935. That's about it for me.

So there was a World Jamboree the same year as a US National Jamboree... that's unusual. Normally, they're offset by 2 years- US in 97, World in 99, and so on.

I believe the knife commemorates the 2nd World Rover Moot held in Stockholm 1935. Perhaps the term Jamboree in my previous post was inprecise. It seems the Rover Moots are distinct events from the younger Scout Jamborees. Apologies for any confusion.
