Scrap Yard 511 (SYKCO 511) - did you get one?

Ordered some a few days ago but my card didn't get charged. Can't want to see 'em, also got the Scrapivore.

Mine arrived last week - Yous almost had me pysched out about the small grip, but its not too bad for my hands - just about the same size as an F1 grip, but certainly not a full hand like the ESEEs and Beckers. If the blade was any bigger, i'd want a more full-hand feel to it, so im hoping they'll make the handle (do you say scales when its molded rubber?) larger when/if they make 611, 711, 911s.

My first busse-kin! I cant wait to put this through its paces and see if this SR101 + heat treat is as awesome as everyone says it is. I'll beat it up this weekend and may then have to graduate to INFI - I really thought I was done buying knives a few months ago - nope
The 611 will actually have a Regulator handle on it so anyones hand fitting it shouldn't be a problem.

I have been using mine...and I REALLY like it. Size is wonderful, even in the back pocket with a kydex sheath. For an EDC, it works for me, keeps a VERY keen edge and is tough as nails. Two coworkers already tried to buy mine off me.

My 2 511's came in today very well balance might make a great thrower,I also like the size could also make a nice boot knife.Very impressed.

Congrats gofastalot! I ordered a tanker gray scrappy w/ mashed cat kydex first, and then the 511... Love them both and the SR101 is great stuff.

Still need some beauty shots of the 511...

I've got a SWKW rodent 9 on the way, I was one of the lucky few that snagged them in the Swamp Rat/Scrap Yard website snafu.
Enjoy your SR101 blades!

What is the fixed blade in the background (under the axe)

It's a custom by Steve Linklater of Aurora, Ontario, Canada. CPMS30V with micarta scales held on by stainless pins, hollow ground, cryo'd & convex edged... It's an awesome little fixed blade! Some pics comparing it to the 511:

Quick Question for you all.

I have the Basic 11. The handle fits my xxl hands fine. But I understand that this is the smaller res-c handle. The size they used on the Baisc 3's (except the texture and grooves were milled out from the original handle mold dies).

Any one have a comparison pic of this handle next to an original Large Res c handle like on the basic 11???????? Or Basic 9 (should be the same size as the 11 handle).

thanks.

I have been putting off ordering one of these because I am worried about the handle size (not to mention I have a SarQ, and Muck, and CABS that probably bracket this size user pretty well. I just want to taste SR101 in Res c).

I purchased a 511 two days ago and my card still hasn't been charged. I was wondering if you have gotten your knives yet? This is my first time dealing with bussekin knives and it seems to me that they ship out the orders periodically. Im just trying to figure out when I can expect to have it in my hands lol I really want to test out this sr-101.

Hey man, Bussekin pretty much always ship out in batches. Batch one of the 511's has already been shipped. So its safe to say it will be about 2 weeks before you see a 511. However it could be sooner. Your card won't be charged until it ships, oh and don't cancel your order like some the wait is worth it. Bussekin steel is beast.

I placed an order for a few of them on Tuesday, and my card was charged the next day on Wednesday (yesterday); I placed another order for a few more yesterday, haven't seen that charge yet.... Whenever the card gets charged, shipping happens pretty soon thereafter. The waiting is part of the process, but always worth it.... Just be patient, you will be glad you did....

BTW, consider yourself lucky to only wait a couple of weeks. People who ordered early on have been waiting a long time. That is part of this addiction, you wait how long it takes. I have ordered knives in the past- whether from the yard, the swamp or Busse- and waited months for them. Its just part of what it takes..... Always worth it when they arrive and you drop everything else you have to do, to run out into the woods and play with your new knives..... :-) If you get impatient and cancel, you will regret it later.... Anyhow, yours will probably arrive soon. Whenever you see the charges to your card, then you know it won't be much longer.... :-)

Thanks for the info, I knew about the long wait times before ordering but didn't have a clue about the credit card processing. It turns out though that there was a little problem. They cant process an order which has a different shipping address than the billing address. It was an option on their checkout page but I guess its a generic checkout page not custom to their business practices. I emailed them back and hopefully all will be taken care of.

I just pulled the trigger...gonna be my first bussekin blade...hope I don't have to wait too long!
