Scratch your knife up challenge: Winner announced

Here is a picture of my dads old blade. It is gone through hell and back but it will slice phonebook paper after me working on it for about two hours.

Thanks Phillip! I sharked that one a couple years ago on a St Patrick's Day Fiddleback Friday. The ironwood is gorgeous and it's got green pinstripes!:D

Gotta love the Desert Ironwood and green liners. I'm just getting started with this one, but it will get there :)

I haven't been among the FF long enough to properly overcome my fear and loathing of actually scratching and/or using a FF blade for much more than opening boxes and cutting vegetables. But I'm working on it. On the other hand this cold steel Recon 1 [given to me by my son before his first tour in Irac] has actually seen use as a garden trowel. Additionally I made the mistake of having it sharpened at a gun and knife show. But only once!!
PS either way this one is going to Jarrett !!

You just inspired my next thread, it may help :) It is causes a need for re-editing/cropping some older photos from over the last 6 or 7 years for a different purpose, but I've spent my lunch time doing most of those. I just have a few more to go, and I'll have the thread up later tonight :)

Thanks Gus, me too! Yes, it's getting there. Hopefully cutting up the sausage for the sausage gravy earlier, and slicing the vegetables for supper tonight adds to it. May get a little happy with a bit of steak sauce to help it along. The A2 is sort of stubborn, but not as stubborn as I am :D

Nah, a couple of trips through the dish washer and maybe a night or two slipped wet into the wooden knife block and you could be totally in the running.
