Before one can know a broom corn knife, one must first know a broom corn.... Haha you have to fill me in. That looks like Andy's first knife.
Locally I am more familiar with the types of sorghum used for fodder and silage, and the sweet sorghums used to make sorghum molasses. It was one of the old staples here in Tennessee years ago, and there are still a couple of places here locally that make sorghum molasses. Then I've read up on it later during my survival studies and experiments after stumbling across some of the UTC agriculture dept. sorghum grain experiments on one of the WMA areas here, and learned of it's use as grains and cereals in India and Asia. Historically it is a very significant plant, though the broom variety was one I had forgotten about.
