I would imagine that one of the only downside of working in a place that makes knives is that your knife stays in your pocket. I mean, there must be a knife at hand everywhere in the shop, right? [emoji12][emoji3]

the A2 doesn't take the patina the same. it definitely has better corrosion resistance

love that Monarch Gus
Extra points for the Victorinox multi-tool. My wife uses a Spirit-X all the time. That second pic is just sweet.
Awesome thread!
And I appreciate the offer, but no one touches my knives but me![]()
I used to say that. Especially back in 1982, when I got my first, what in modern language we call, Grail. I can't say I know Jarrett personally, per se. We've not met face to face. But I've entrusted him with my best Grails. And whether or not it looks like it or not, that says a great deal. [emoji106]

I VERY rarely send any of my special personal knives off anywhere. That has nothing to do with the craftsmen I deal with and EVERYTHING to do with the people between them and myself in shipping. Once I have it, I keep it...
Yeah I can appreciate that. In my chequered past I've been known to take a few risks. And perhaps there's bigger forces in play...at least for me. And after all,...most of my blades including my 82' Boye Grail came via the mail.

I totally feel your words and pain...four!! Duly noted about shipping during the holidays. I do have a blade coming from California that should have made here already a Bushboot in fact...ALL of this issues have happened during the holidays when they have all the seasonal help, but the three they lost last year from a pre-order of oe of my designs. They just disappeared during transit to different places. That left a bad feeling for me. I've only ever had one not show up that I bought, and it was coming from Canada, but still, it's enough to make me not risk the important ones...
The winner has the choice to opt out of sharpening and in its place recieve a random piece of junk I find lying out in the dirt
Alternately, you could donate your session to whatever poor bas&#&_@- in this forum can't even cut paracord anymore

It's not that I don't trust him to do a good job, he's most likely better at it than I am. But I'm not a collector, I only have a few nice knives and they've become more than 'just knives' to me over time. It just feels too personal to let anyone else touch them that way, kinda feels like loaning out a wife or daughter to someone.
I'm weird like that, I know...
Plus, I can't be the only one here that's curious what random piece of junk he'll be sending out, lol
