Sebenza 31 Converts?

Where can I get this?!
Like everything else, most places are out of stock. So, you’ll have to be on notifications from dealers or check availability often. Keep in mind, the polished finish is going to cost more

Very true. But I think it'll be worth it. The CRK website is strange. If I order a custom 31, there's no insingo option. Only drop point. But if I go through the knives link and customize from there, it gives the insingo option?

Nevermind. Insingo blade shapes are not options on polished frames for some silly reason.

I thought the Mnandi hole came on gen 3 after the gen 1/2 nick. Is that not right? An outdated image is certainly possible, but it matched the description (also possibly outdated). It was a recent 'exclusive' offer.

But, then I saw it wasn't Magnacut and read it might be a while before those arrived on a Mnandi. It's not critical, but I might as well get it if I'm jumping in to CRK.
Yep I miss spoke. Hole is gen 3

Can't beat wood inlays for dressy occasions. View attachment 2286865
This sentiment always makes me chuckle. I can see a mnandi as dress carry, they are pretty small. I carry a small traditional when dressed up. A wood inlaid sebenza would be a whole other level. I just don’t see that working for me in a pair of slacks. Maybe clipped in my coat inside breast pocket.

Interesting perspective. I often chuckle when people struggle with the size and weight of a Sebenza. Granted, I know little of fashion, but I wonder of people's clothes are too tight? 🤔

In my case, the sizing will determine how it is comfortable to carry, whether in a bag, pocket of jeans, or pocket of dressier pants. As pocket knives are not really allowed everywhere, printing can be a factor if carried in a pocket, especially if dress pants instead of jeans. Also, as I have a desk job, extended sitting affects what may be comfortable in a pocket or not. So, it is practical considerations more than fashion.

I think the sebenza is one of my lightest knives tbh. It doesn't seem much heavier than anything else I've got but it may just be me not noticing or paying too much attention because of how comfortable it is in living in my pocket. It's like a hitch hiker I'm perfectly fine with carrying around. Unlike rocks in my boots!

I agree. Large Sebenza 21&31 are noticeably lighter the Inkosi, Umnumzaan and 25. Actually the 25 is the heaviest knife I own.

Well that's terrible news! Here I was wanting to eventually try the zaan but if it's too heavy that defeats the purpose. Lbs=pain when you're on your feet for 10+ hours every day. 😞

The Zaan is by no means heavy, its just heavier then the Sebenza by a small amount.

nows where the fun begins

Got mine this week. Large in MC.

Decided pretty quick to take it down and clean/lube like I always do. Just as easy as it always has been with Sebenza's, no changes there. Love the smell of fresh WD-40!

Looks like Tim is running the factory like a steam train; there was some black metal dust on the inside of the slabs and pivot. I guess maybe that is a good sign, more knives to the people!

There is NO lock rock, it's just as solid as a 21. And with the perfectly hardened MagnaCut this is among the best pocket knives you can buy today, no doubt. The detent has improved, and after a few days it is drop shut despite ALL 4 screws is securely tightened after the clean/lube. I'm also gonna try to keep the morbid little noose lanyard for a while this time. It just looks good on a Sebenza.

I honestly have to force myself to not put mine in my pocket every morning. I absolutely love my Zaan and Inkosi but the plain simple elegance of the Sebenza so hard to pass up.

My oh my...what a difference a day some days make.

🤣 🍻
I admit it. I was wrong about the 31. I just didn’t want to like it for some strange reason. And honestly I based my Sebenza opinion as a whole on the the smalls I had owned. The large is a completely different knife. It’s easy to see what Mr. Reeve was after and he did it so freaking well.

I admit to being partial to over built knives like the Inkosi and Zaan but the Large Sebenza is all the knife a person can need in a folder.

There I said it!
