Sebenza Spydie Hole Mod

Not sure if this is old news (if it is mods feel free to delete the thread), just randomly saw it on instagram. Figured it was an interesting mod some guy did, especially since loads of people have trouble with the Sebenza thumb studs.

I have seen a few “Spybenzas” one was i believe a small 21 that someone put a hole in the blade like the one you posted.

The other was a small 21 that someone somehow modified to fit a what looked like a Spyderco Firefly or maybe Spyderco Bob Terzuola jr. blade in.

The last one is a little interesting. This guy actually built custom scales. At first I thought they werw from a sebenza clone but apparently he built them from scratch. I guess you would need custom scales to fit that Spydie military blade in.

I would love to try this. The spydiehole is great but I hate the ugly blade shapes they seem to require.

I personally think it’s brilliant. I love CRK and I love Spyderco. Probably my top 2 brands. How about a Sebenza with a compression lock!?

The mod looks good, very well done. For the Sebs that are hard to open, this may be a solution.
I've never had a problem opening a Seb though.

I think the opening hole may be better than the thumb stud. Agree with BB.

...that hole is kinda big...I'd like to see a little more meat between the hole and the top of the spine.
...guy shoulda sold the nice Sebbie and bought a Spydie.

I'm a big fan (imgur link) of drilling spydie holes in knives. More people should do this, I think.
