Hinderer XM18 or Sebenza 21 Large

Handled the 21 sebenza in store and that round spine looked magical. The blade was nice and thin. Can't wait to get one when i have money and make it scary sharp.

That's exactly my thought on the subject. I'll have one by the end of the month, and hit it up on the Edge Pro followed by some strops.

One thing I can say is that clip point blade looks sexy as hell

I've never had the urge to try a Hinderer. One week with a Sebenza and CRK just had me, hook, line, and sinker. I can't say enough good things about how well mine have performed over the years (I've carried one daily since 2004).

I always thought my small seb was a bit persnickety to tear down. Just did my half track and it's mindless. Seb is nicely finished but I like the HT for its tankness
 
I love my CRKs but I've never owned a Hinderer. I handled one and was very unimpressed. I'm no flipper noob and that thing would not flip. I like my ZT Hinderers a lot (0562, 0550, 0566). With that said, the Half Track is really calling to me. I might just have to pick up one of those and check it out.

Wanna save that cost??? Get the knife and fondle away. You'll get the same outcome.

I just received my first 2 Sebbies. A brand new 21 large tanto and a second hand 25 CF.
The 21 free drops after 1 day of carry and flicks out with an awesome sounding snap!! No wrist required!
The 25 is the same way.
Both feel fantastic in my hand.
Neither one sang hymns to me, but they are amazingly finished beautiful knives that I will never sell!! And I'm hiding them from my sons that still don't know the meaning of the word 'borrow'!!!

Man this is what I love to hear! I can't wait till I receive mine in the mail Monday. Unless wait ...it's Memorial Day.....mail doesn't run does it :eek::eek::confused:
 
For whatever reason I just cannot get myself to get a CRK, but a Hinderer is calling to me. Now, if someone could just help me decide between the half track and MP1. I am really torn.

Hey maybe it's just too simplistic of a design for yah?? Doesn't have that "wow" factor I guess for some. Which is understandable

Just get one. Have you ever handled a CRK?

Personally I like the Half Track better. Just wish it was a tad larger

I was always confused when it came to the Hinderers though.
It's said they were designed for first responders. I would LOVE to know how many first responders actually carry one.
I know a bunch, and have yet to see one of them carry a Hinderer. Or any high end knife.

Long ago I stopped believing hype about use knives for first responders, soldiers, or police. You simply do not need a $400+ knife to save your life. A fireman will surely get more use out of an axe. Cops or soldiers are usually not breaking the bank on gear.

Having said that, I love high end knives! I like their workmanship and I just enjoy carrying and using them the same way people enjoy expending e watches.

Well, that's it. There are no stores in my state that I know of that carry CRK's. So, kinda screwed in that way. My biggest concern is that pointy thumbstud. I have a rat1 in my hand right now that is the smoothest knife I own and have opened it 200x this morning with zero discomfort. That is a well done thumb stud. That pointy one on the Sebby looks painful and being an addict at fondling my knives that is a concern. I get zero pleasure just knowing I own something. I have to have it in hand and do something with it to enjoy it. Hell, I hunt for stuff to cut.

I do have a store a 100 miles away that carries Hinderers though and am going to see if they have a half track today to check it out. I wish they would carry Reeves, but alas the owner just doesn't like em.

And I agree, the size of the half track is my concern with it. Seems a tad small. Wish that dude was MP1 size. Could just be neither are in my future.

You answered your own question. There is no wrong answer and if you like the Sebenza better, that is what you should get.
