Seems to be gettin' a little slow in here

It will be woodlands skills since that's what we are all about ;)

Well, if that's what you're all about, good luck to you. That's not what all of us are all about. Whatever turns your crank, I guess, it's your contest.

People never cease to amaze me. ESEE and RAT was built on wilderness skills and knowledge. Be nice. ;)

Wow, sounds cool.

while I might not be able to take part in some large skill contest (I'm thinking of the last larger contest - I could not take part in that cause to legal restrictions in my area) I'd be glad to see some smaller contests as well.

Thanks for your generousity!

i would imagine any person who enters would need to be at least a gold member and a rat pack member.

Well if I actually get my number (j/k I know they're busy guys ;) )

Kind of curious as what the contest will be... any thoughts on a timeline for the start or definitive intel?

I'm also about sipping good Tequila, associating with crazy women, and listening to good rock and roll, but the game here is more about woodland skills than urban skills. The point of this exercise is to get more people out in the woods creating and learning and using basic tools to accomplish that.

Tentatively, here is the prize list for the first place winner:

1) Junglas
2) Lite Machete
3) ESEE-5P
4) ESEE-6P
5) ESEE-4 (Choice of color) w/ MOLLE Back
6) ESEE-3 (Choice of color) w/ MOLLE Back
7) Izula (Choice of color, kit version)
8) Izula-II (kit version)
9) KaBar ESKABAR
10) HEST (Fixed Blade)
11) Advanced E&E Kit & Wallet Survival Kit (new product to be released soon)
12) Basic Survival Kit

Wow ...
I definitely need a place where I can go practising legally aside from my own garden ...

And, yes, international competitors are welcome. All you need is a Gold or higher BF's membership. Tony will get the details up soon.

Cool, this will help support the forums and also get folks out practicing skills. Good show all the way around ;)

I'd be up for this.... still stuck in the rut of reading about other peeps activities, and not getting out nearly enough to practice my own skills.... now that it is getting really cold and wet outside, with rain, frost, and truly uncomfortable..... :)

And as far as it being urban verses wilderness... all skills that are true skills can be adapted in any environment....

Tony, once it is posted please lock the thread so no replies can be made. We are still waiting on Sprk's approval for this and we will be posting a liability waiver that all participants have to sign and send back to us.

May I suggest the one skill test -

Make 5 different survival items from the same natural material. Photos would have to include 1 photo of the natural material at source, 1 photo of the competitor 'acquiring' the material, 5 photos of the items being made and 1 photo of the final products. Total 8 photos. All photos (if possible) optimized for the web, so that we don't have to hours for the photos to appear.
