Seems to be gettin' a little slow in here

I promote Esee knives more then enough thanks. Although all my ranting on how great their customer service may have been premature. Paying on top of all this doesn't fit into a students budget.

Don't forget where you came from, not from gold members but from satisfied customers who recommended you to others of which only a small portion are gold members.

Anyway I thank you for listening and I hope you take my feelings into consideration and redirect yourself back onto a path I can support.

Nothing has Changed
We Give alot of ESEE Products away no matter status

Maybe the guy that drinks the most Tequila while naked with two crazy women and listening to AC/DC while building his survival camp?

I pulled off Back in Black at a karaoke bar last weekend, played wii with 3 chicks for a few hours a day or two ago, and I brought my izula along with my psk to college........ sounds like I got a fighting chance in this one

Well it feels like it has changed, and i'm still half expecting 'bladeforums' to replace ROWEN on future knives.

Actually in some law enforcement charitable events we have indeed replaced the names (private labeled) on the knives with the name of the LE group, and gave them the knives for free simply to support their cause. We do this a lot. In fact, we give away more knives outside of BFs than we ever do here. With that said, it doesn't change anything with the actual business side of our company. Individual officers will call and order knives and pay for them, and never complain that they didn't get something for free simply because they saw the free stuff we gave to support an event they showed up at. We just gave away about 25 knives to a Hollywood Charity event that is being hosted by actor Patrick Kilpatrick. It's for a good cause. Bladeforums, in our opinion, is a good cause so the little we do to help support the forums makes the whole industry better by the forum being here.

this contest is awesome
im gunna have to try and get an ESEE an a gold membership soon, if not i may just have to go and try it for kicks

Now that's what it's all about. It's not so much about winning but actually putting yourself and your family into an environment to learn and be creative and have fun. Winning a prize just sweetens the pot but it's not the overall goal of the contest. What we want to see with this forum is a goal of everyone to learn more and get out there. Sometimes we "nudge" people with offerings of prizes but the ultimate goal is creating a group of people who are self-sufficient.

Drunk + naked + sharp objects = heckuva mental picture! :D Be very careful where you swing that knife! What is that ceremony called, a bris? :) Don't cut too much!

Sounds like this past weekend, where we gave away a bunch of free knives by the way. Alot of them not only to non-gold members, but some to folks who aren't even on the forum.

Then again, it would have cost gas money to get there sooooo.....

Truth and  to Jeff, Mike, and the gang for all the stuff they do give away.

To anyone who's mad because they don't meet the criteria, I strongly suggest you follow theevilmike's example and do it just for the heck of it if you would've done it for a prize. Getting out in the woods is not about "gimme, gimme, gimme". It's about peace and self reliance. While I hate to stereotype, I've found that those who play in the woods because they can are some of the easiest going people in the world. Those who would have to make that decision based on a prize, not so much. The entitlement issues that abound these days and the general whiny attitudes are IMO directly related to people being boxed in and reliant on others. Throw off the chains for a bit and get out there. Screw the prizes, do it for your sanity.

Just my opinion.

No, not at all. I get upset when none of your chosen venues are free. Also Im ok with rules, just not ones that make me pay.

With your company you can choose your rules, but with my wallet I get a choice too. I guess we will agree to disagree and let the chips fall as they may.

dude do you think esee is the only section on blade forum? there are tons of reasons to support the forum as a whole. lots of info and fine folks, its not all about give aways.

wow esee wants to give a ton of wonderful things away. which they dont have to and wont make them a dime. damn them for requiring some participation in supporting a totally separate and has nothing to do with them except for friendship forum.

Hey Jeff or Tony. Does this have to be done in one sitting and one place, or can it be done a few days apart for each thing with different locations. Still trying to decided if I can do this. My last attempt at primitive living was a little pathetic, especially since I couldn't even start a fire without a lighter. :D

Thanks

monday night i went out into the bush for a hike with 2 of my kids, we stopped under some heavy trees when it started raining
i built a small fire and cooked a few cans of stew that were in my pack and we ate out there, had toasted marshmellows for dessert
was a great fall hike
got home just in time for the lil one to go to bed :)

Awesome guys... I have the release form printed. Going home on friday and getting my sister to sign it for me (shes 27 and going to be my "emergency support" for the trip).

Just have to decide when and where I will do this sucker. I'm going for 3 days over a weekend to try and keep my self alive or die trying!

Like gundude73 said, not all of us live in the woods. Too bad for us urban knife enthusiasts I guess.

Also, it may be disappointing for those who do put in a lot of effort and then one guy wins 12 knives.

Giving away 12 knives can make 12 happy people, instead of one happy person and many with nothing to show for their effort.

Just my opinion.

I live about a mile from the city limits of Houston, the 3rd largest city in the country and I'm in the woods at least 2 times a month. A little effort to get to the woods isn't all that much to ask is it?

Also, it may be disappointing for those who do put in a lot of effort and then one guy wins 12 knives.

Yes, it's a kickass prize for the winner. Thus folks should try their best to win. Kind of what a contest is all about.;)

This is true, or we could give away all 12 to one and make'em REALLY happy.

And don't forget, there's a second and third place prize too.

Yeah it's funny. I'm really pumped for the contest, but I'm actually having trouble finding a place within a 3 hour drive to do this thing on a weekend.

Any local places have either a. no campires or b. no wilderness camping.

Still looking though, if it turns out I can't find anything, can't say I didn't try. It'll still be wicked to see what people end up with. In the end winning a bunch of knives would be cool, but I would be doing this to prove to myself I wouldn't die if I had to survive in a really crappy situation.

I'm out of resources for waaaambulances. Jesus, are all of you on your periods at once this month?

There could be NO contest. Then there would be NO winner. We don't give things away you cry. We do give things away you cry.
