Seems to be gettin' a little slow in here

I'm out of resources for waaaambulances. Jesus, are all of you on your periods at once this month?

There could be NO contest. Then there would be NO winner. We don't give things away you cry. We do give things away you cry.

OK, I think I tore something laughing at that one! Seriously, I would enter even if there was no prize. I tell ya'll what, if I win, I'll give away or pass around every blade but the Junglas. I just want that one. Pay it forward and share the wealth, I say. Just sayin'. Moose

This was funny.:D
I'll try to get something woodsy done to enter.
Not that I needed incentive to go play with knives in the woods.:)

Fair enough.

I think we get too caught up in wanting free things...

Let's just say thank you to ESEE for taking the time to prepare such an awesome contest, and for being generous enough to give away so many products  when they don't have to. And by doing so are promoting and supporting the community on bladeforums that lets all these events happen.

This contest is 100% about learning and testing skills. As R.A.T. said the prize is just an incentive for us to get off our asses (and ESEE forum) and make use of these tools and skills we have learned about.

I'll shuttup now before I get in more trouble :D:foot:

Moving on.....

I have looked into in, that arrowhead will cost me more to ship it to Canada then if I just bought it of a website. Under no circumstances can I justify something like that considering I don't really want it.

Also too.. ESEE big disappointment your setting this up in a way where its gold or higher. I recall you setting up a facebook group to facilitate non gold members in entering contests after one contest went through with like 2 entries. I actually created a facebook profile for just that reason.

For a company with great customer service, I feel ripped off. :thumbdn: Hopefully I'm jumping the gun with this post, and you plan to work something else in, but I read your new sticky too. I shouldn't have to pay to enter a giveaway. :thumbdn::thumbdn::thumbdn:

nothing to see here.

I just want to say Thank You to all that got this contest started, i feel it will give alot of people the incentive to go out and put their all into building a rockin primitive camp and some necessities that will only push their skill too a higher level. I for one have not done alot of bushcrafting but it really is a great way to make you want to try that much harder and if you put your heart and soul into it you will come out a winner no matter who wins the prizes. Being in the outdoors is a priceless prize as it is! So again Thank You to everyone.:D Plus we get to play with are sharp toys........................................

You're right and for some members there really is no contest. ;)

I know it's lame to complain about free contests, but in all honesty, if you don't want complaints then there really needs to be more thought going into them. It's a simple concept and it's called being fair.

I'm taking your advice and "moving on."

Really?.....Fair?

Whats "fair"?

It's a contest, participate or don't. Everything in life is going to be easier for some folks than others, just reality.

This forum is based around wilderness survival, that's the base of our market. Sure the knives are capable of other tasks but they were designed with the woods in mind.

Everyone is welcome here, anyone (who is willing to put in some effort) is welcome to enter the contests but the majority of them are going to be woodland based, sorry.

Well, I have to go over to the 4x4 and offroad forums now and complain that I can't enter their contests because I don't own a truck....It's just not fair.:D

I can't believe anyone is complaining about a chance to win a bunch of amazing knives.

If you're not already a Gold member, look at it as a raffle. Pay a little bit of money for a chance to win big. (and support a good cause at that)

You can either enter, or don't. Pretty simple.

Life is good. I have several crazy women that hate me, I've got Ac/DC blaring in the background and I'm sipping Cazadores Anejo Tequila. Screw getting out in the woods to try and win some piece of shit knives! The only thing I'm looking forward to is taking a motorcycle that I'm giving away to Expatriated and eating some of his wife's Mexican casserole. Now that's living. Now I guess we will get the complainers that I didn't properly give away a motorcycle.

You didn't even give me a chance to win the motorcycle....That's not fair...

Maybe some folks are just trying to psych out the competition, keep as many others as possible from entering to improve own odds of winning :D .

Another company many of us are familiar with had a photo contest for their calendar, folks had to send in a picture of one of that company's knives to enter, winners got a free knife. Was that "unfair" to folks that didn't have a digital camera? I don't think so. I didn't win that contest either. No problem, it was fun to try.

I imagine probably the majority of us don't live right next to an idyllic spot in the woods to create an entry. I live in a pretty large metroplex, but I am determined to find a way to get off my fat a** and try my hand at this. Do I think I have spitting chance of winning? Not really, but it will be a good experience to try. Whether I have to drive 3 or 4 hours to find a place, or sneak into the overgrown bushes near a creek running through town, I want to find a way. I am way out of shape, have a difficult time sleeping even in my own house at night, and may end up having to stay awake all night by a fire fighting mosquitos or being extremely uncomfortable in some other way, but it will be a growing experience.

And this contest was announced at a pretty good time! We are finally getting some cooler weather, at least in Texas. And we have TWO MONTHS to make our entry. My enemy will be my own habit of procrastination :) .

Dear God people, it's not like they're asking us to kill a wild boar with an Izula while wearing only a loin-cloth.
Hell, I thought I was a spoiled North American.
Not anymore.

I think CricketDave is going to work that in though......

That's the spirit amigo. Some of the BEST people we have ever carried to the jungle were people that had never slept a night in the outdoors. Some of the worst were "experts". It's not about what you can do, it IS about giving it your best shot, never giving up and not blaming others for your mistakes, problems or downfalls. Life is not fair. Period. How we survive through it being that way is what makes us survivors. So, we don't have woods around or the 25 bucks to spend on a gold membership, then do it any way, some way, for no other reason than to prove it to yourself. Don't think we don't notice people who go above and beyond even when they may not have all the resouces available that others may have. That, in itself, is what ESEE is about. It's a philosiophy more than a knife company. It's not about blaming for something being unfair, it is about facing unfair challenges in life and succeeding anyway.

Did I mention that cazadores Anejo Tequila is the best sipping tequila I have ever found. Throw all that Patron, Herraduras and other "good" tequilas in the trash and buy some Cazadores. You'll never look back!

Are you guys tripping acid or what? Didn't seem like there was so much teet suckling in last year's contest. Do I need to get in this thing to reduce the sniveling factor or what?

Guess I'll take to take the motorcycle up the the woods to try and win me some knives. Nice 2hr ride.
