Just curious what you do with ALL these knives you hoard in your drawer, closet, safe, or under your bed at mom's house??

whats your point for having all these blades?? What do you use them for??

I have multiple knives and SOME see rotation while others do not, with that in mind I'm curious once again why we need all these knives, I'm talking physical reasons not emotional/mental..

Are you trying to kill ESEE sales with this intelligent post? :D

But it was an intelligent post. I ask myself that same question all the time: what in the hell are people doing with all these knives they're buying? Killing Somali priates? :D

We actually do not need all the knives we have, just make sure you have an ESEE 6 and a good folding saw. All the rest are extra or for fun.

I like knives. The only ones that see "real" daily use is my CS Lawman, and my BK14/Izula. I open alot of boxes, and strip wires. I use my knife for both. I do use some of my knives in the kitchen, but not all the time. Most of my knives are for playing with when the urge strikes me. Simple really. I like knives. Some guys its cars, others guns (I like those too), sports, and many other things. I like knives.

For awhile I would have considered myself a collector of blades, now I am a user. Instead of having 20 mediocre blades I decided to trade for 1-2 really nice blades. Now my constant EDC blades are a small sebenza 21 and an izula with scales. The rule is if I don't use it within a month its far game for trading. Just traded my 6, because with a new born on the way and a 2 year old, camping and hiking have gone by the wayside for now.

Moose, you pretty much nailed it. I like knives and outdoor gear too. Some of it I use hard and some of it just becomes shit to look at and play with. A pocket folder gets 90 percent of my use when it comes to sharp edges outside of the kitchen. The main reason I buy gear though is to see where it excels and where it falls short. Always trying to build a better mousetrap, even if it's just in my head.

Besides Trauma/First Aid, that's pretty much how I determine a pack load for my backpack. Of course it's climate dependent but not that much changes in my pack betwen the Amazon and Alabama.

ahh shit Tony, just be damn honest. You're a gear whore.

I use my Esee knives to make pretty photos, its the becker knives that I own that get used hard.......;)

As it should be. I always buy POS vehicle for using and nice vehicles for riding in style.

Compared to some of you, I bet my knife collection is pathetic. I’ve got more ESEE blades than any other brand. I really don’t collect them, I use pretty much all of them. It’s just a rotation thing. Some days I want to play with this, some days with that. About 50% of my stuff is "just in case" that I need to have but might not get a lot of regular use.

I came to the ESEE club because it was waaaaaaay cheaper than my gun purchases. :D The knives have been cheaper, but all this other cool stuff intrigues me and costs money. I walk in from work, the wife is standing there with a package. She says nothing. “Axe” I say. Week or so later, same thing. “Propane heater….preps.” Then I call her on the phone and loudly shout in to my cell phone “Hey babe, what ever happened to those maxi pads they used to make that were HUGE….I need some of those for my First Aid Kit. Hello? Hello?”

I think they nailed it. I have thirty some folders with only 4-5 fixed blades...but my hobby is knives so i dont see it as a waste. Some guys collect weird shit like toy trains and antiques. All of us just have better taste and collect cooler things like expensive blades! :)
so i say dont question yourself, just buy what you really like and makes you feel good! Cuz thats what I do!! :D

I like to carry all mine arround with me

Hi I'm StagLefty and I'm a gear whore. I've had blackouts on line when buying gear and have abused some of my gear but I can stop any time :foot:
I'm presently in regear and hope to become a more productive member of society after I die ;)

if i could handle knives first before i buy, i probably wouldn't own half of what i have now...and my taste is changing (i'm currently moving towards scandi knives) and i'm always searching for the most ergonomic knife for me. it's kind of a hassle though to sell knives so that's why i have more than i actually use now. i'd really like my collection to go down to just 5 or so (i'm the complete opposite of a pack rat) so maybe i'll sell the others as a group to minimize the selling hassle.
