Server busy at moment,try again later??????

Took me 68 minutes to get this far, 9:15pm to 10:18 CST

Sux real bad tonight. Started at 10:16pm EDST. Nothing but error 404s for a long time. Now I'm connecting but slow as molasses in January.
 
gahh what am I going to be able to do now that I can't reload a page every 5 seconds???

hope this gets fixed soon.
 
Just restarted the mysql processes after logging into the dbserver to find things were running wild.
 
Yeah, I've been doing some numbercrunching and I think our database has outgrown our RAM on the servers. I'm going to call the techs tomorrow and see if we can upgrade the ram to 8 or 16gb or so and hopefully that will improve things.
 
Seems a lot better here as well.

Just as well, I was starting to show serious withdrawal signs! :eek:

It was clear that the webserver was fine, i.e. http requests weren't timing out but anything involving a database query was excruciatingly slow.
 
I could basically could not get on after 9:15 cst, time outs, 20 minutes to load a post. Arrrgh, enough to make any one go into withdrawal. Things seem to be loading fine now.

Last night things around here were incredibly slow. Everything seems fine now. One time last night I waited about 10 minutes to get a server too busy message.
 
Slow as molasses last night around 10:30 to 11:00.

Back on track this morning.
 
The mysql server is suppossed to restart itself every day so this sort of thing doesn't happen, but I have a call in to the techs about a couple issues.
 
I wasn't even getting "server busy" messages last night, my browser would time out after 60 seconds saying it could not find the bladeforums server...
