yes, I still have baggage from this thread...but I shall only post when I have glowing news to report in the future.

OE, I can't speak for everyone but personally I appreciate your heads up
on SG2. I don't have anything with it but if I do, I know now that I shouldn't
whack a piece of wood with it. Please keep your posts going. You may have
saved someone the trouble of warping a blade. We as knife owners need to
hear the good, the bad, the do's and dont's of certain steels.

OE, I meant no disrespect. It was good to hear your experiences, and to give the rest of us a heads up on your findings. I was merely trying to get your thread back on track.

I'm sincerely sorry if I offended you in any way........

Just the opposite, I was appreciating your effort!!! thanks bud

Vassili, I agree photos would be nice to see. However this should be started in another thread.

cbxer55 clearly stated in post # 52 that "This will definitely, without a doubt, be the last Kershaw I buy, ever." With this statement, I personally feel that a new thread should host his complaints. He can then post post his pictures there.

Thanks, SPX

Someone browsing this thread may see this and may not see pictures in another thread - it is logical to have final answer here also. However one way or another we need to see pictures.

Thanks, Vassili.

As I said, my camera seems to be out-of-sorts.
On Wednesday, when I get back to work, I will use my work camera (on breaks and lunch okay, boss?) to get some proper photos. I took some 14 photos last night. But when I down-loaded them, they were so blurry it was not worth the effort to post. My wife said she dropped the camera a couple of weeks ago. Must have done some damage internally, it used to work really well.
This photo which includes my two Benchmade rukus shows it had worked at one time.
BTW, this is my usual EDC.
Kimber .45, NAA .32, two Benchmade Rukus, Leatherman Charge XTi, Surefire U2.

This happens, looking forward to see your pictures Wednesday.

Thanks, Vassili.

Sorry for any trouble I caused OE.
My apologies for keeping the original thread off track everyone.

I personally haven't sliced anything harder than a little plastic with
my SG2. I cut boxes and tape with it every day among a few other things.
I've never had the chance to use it outdoors as you have, but I have
always had other knives for that.
Thanks for the heads up.

this actually makes me WANT to buy an SG2 jyd. Originally i thought the edge might not really be thin enough, seeing as it was going on a knife that was typically thought of as very heavy duty. Seeing that the edge really is that thin, and more importantly, the steel right behind the edge is really that thin, makes me want to go out and get one. Thanks OE

Troll or not, I was quite amused at the fact that 15 miles for a trip to the post office and a couple of bucks for shipping was apparently far too much to ask, yet he can spend a whole bunch of time whining about it.

I believe he is telling the truth about his knives, but I can't respect his inability to get the situation resolved. Either give Kershaw a chance to right the wrong or quit whining. What do you want them to do, come to your house?

Yes! I would like to extend this invitation to any Kershaw nut, Thomas, Ken, Tim, Lee, Tif and the rest to come to my home and enjoy a gourmet dinner, prepared by an award winning chef (yours truly) of Veal Saltimbocca, served with linguine and a few bottles of 1991 Justin Icocoles...No reservations needed!

I can't wait for dinner Saturday! :D

sorry, I've avoided this train wreck like the plague but it looks like pictures related to the OTHER issues are missing in action? Oh well.... as for a follow up from me. I fixed the SG2 warp and given the fact that I don't do any chopping, it is PURRRRRRINNG like a kitten! (cutting fast and smooth without a hiccup) It's still my favorite cutter*

*with appropriate use ;)

. . . that 15 miles for a trip to the post office and a couple of bucks for shipping was apparently far too much to ask, yet he can spend a whole bunch of time whining about it.
In fact, Thomas even offered to reimburse for the shipping!

I hope pictures will be forthcoming simply so I can learn something else about evaluating knives. Quality is one of those things that seem simple until you really try and define it.

No company can obtain perfection in their manufacturing process. All you can expect is that they will remedy any problem if provided with reasonable notice. I admit that I am ignorant about the technical aspects of knife making, but I would assume that any deficiency should be presented as soon as it is discovered in order to establish that it is in fact a manufacturing defect.

Thanks OregonEdge for the insight as I would have probably damaged my knife doing the same thing you did. Glad you were able to fix it. I'll be sure not to "thwack" anything, but use it only for slicing. :)
