I check in on this thread just because I like to watch lower intellects pummel one another... kind of like the fecal-throwing monkey analogy used a few pages back. Regardless of who's right or wrong here, you both have managed to prove just what a pair of total ass-goblins you are. Sometimes being wrong and handling yourself in a respectful manner are more important than being right... and I haven't seen a better example of this observation in quite some time.
So keep it up! Your ignorance and lack of respect for one another (and yourselves) in a public forum is amusing!
 
I've obviously missed "the other post???", but will add my 2-cents worth and will probably expect change afterwards... LOL

I thought I had a deal with Shao, but after the long time between emails, it began to smell fishey to me. Well I just went with my gut feeling and avoided any problems.

After reading all 7 pages, I'm glad I did too.

I don't know, it seems to me like Royal1982 deserves the credit for the catch. Every word Shao typed was a lie. I personally think a few people here owe Royal1982 an apology.

Through this whole thing I've been asking myself how rabid I would go if someone came on here and started lying about a deal I had with them. I don't know if I would have been as civil as Royal.:) Personally I believe that Royal is vindicated. YMMV

Hello, this is Theresa Le, Shao's girlfriend. Needless to say, all of this has upset him to no end. The user royals1982 (Andrew Scott) has more than one than once prank called my home - threatened my me and my man, and has started an active campaign to badmouth Shao. We constantly implore him to leave us alone but he won't. We have even been considering placing a restraining order on him. Shao ocasionally sells knives on Ebay but sells more on forums such as this one. I think it's unfair to ban him before all the facts are displayed. Even if he did buy a knife from microholics.com - what did he do wrong by reselling on Ebay? Is there some law that says you can't trade between venues? Shao is a knife collector first and foremost. Sometimes he needs to sell one to buy "THE NEXT BIG THING" - Why is Royals1982 not banned? Does he not buy from other forums and re-sell on Ebay? How hard would it be for Shao to open another e-mail address, use a different name, and PayPal account so that he can sell secretly. My man has nothing to hide. You should all be ashamed of yourselves for adopting the bandwagon mentality without thinking got a second that Shao is a wonderful human being. Shao's been a wreck all day. He was so happy when he found a place filled with people who he thought could understand him. Maybe the folks at Knifeforums are correct - Bladeforums is on the decline. You've already ruined my boyfriend's reputation without bothering to investigate the facts.

Your "man" wasn't using the proper membership. #1
Your "man" had more than enough chances to prove himself, he did not. #2
Your "man" also got himself wrapped up in lies and caught. #3
For the record, alot of folks here aren't going to buy form either Shao or Royals after this fiasco. #4

Royals was at least using a correct membership. #5

If your so happy at knifeforums, why not stay there?
If we are on the decline, why do we have more members than any other knife forum out there?
If we are on a decline, why do we have trolls with nothing better to do but repeatedly try and join our forums?

Because it's the "place to be".

Sorry but those are the breaks and regardless of what Royals is doing or not doing to you and Shao outside of these forums, which we have no control over, that isn't the issue. If you need to press charges then do so. I have a feeling if the actions/words that were communicated outside of the forums were really that bad, you would have done so already. Not to mention Shao said some things here also that weren't so "nice".

Theresa, the problem is your boyfriend lied to us about being a dealer so he could advertise on Bladeforums without paying for a Dealer Membership. If we didn't kick out people who do that there wouldn't be any Bladeforums. If the dealers who sell here didn't support the place we wouldn't be able to pay the expenses of keeping this place running.

Bladeforums is primarily a place for knife knuts to get together and talk about knives. Advertising knives for sale is also allowed here, and that pays the expenses. (Most of the expenses ... we still end up short....)

How hard would it be for Shao to open another e-mail address, use a different name, and PayPal account so that he can sell secretly.

Yep, the Sebbie I was trying to deal on was here for sale, withdrawn, sold here?, and is on Ebay now.

The problem is that we would have a very hard time knowing if what we were being told by Shoa was the truth or not. You posted "Even if he did buy a knife from microholics.com - what did he do wrong by reselling on Ebay? Is there some law that says you can't trade between venues?". He has emphatically denied that he did do that, which means that if he did do that he lied about it.

You can buy and sell between venues, no problem, but when you are purchasing knives and then relisting them immediately for a profit, those are the actions a dealer, not a hobbyist. There is nothing wrong with Shao being a dealer, but he has to get the proper Bladeforums membership to be able to do business here. Dealers pay for the right to sell here, and it would be unfair to them to let other dealers sell without getting the proper membership.

Where are all the people who are in good standing with Shao? I'll tell you where, scared of showing their faces so they won't get banned too. I think someone should at least put him on probation so he can at least defend himself from all the people jumping on the jump on the Shao bandwagon.

Have you ever bought a knife - played with it for a day or two, and then decide it's just not for you? Does that make you a seller if you wish to unload it to recoup some of your losses? I don't know whether he bought the knife in question, I'm usually too busy with work to pay attention to my man's knife collection. Look at how many knives Shao has sold on bladeforums.com - now loot at the people who sell 10 times as many - do they have a dealer's account? Royals1982 has done nothing BUT sell since he joined..Or is this all a game of favoritism?

According to Shao, he has better things to do then defend himself. His words, not ours. There is no bandwagon. His alibi was transparent enough to be seen through. Maybe that's why others aren't sticking up for someone caught lieing?

Once or twice. But all the time? That's a dealer in my book.
 
Plasticandsteel is my business - if he lied to protect my identity then so be it. I thank him for that. But he's done nothing that a thousand others wouldn't - defend the integrity of his girlfriend's business. Shao is not a dealer - I am - it's under my name - I am the legal owder - and I would hardly call it a business as I average maybe $200 a month from it. I do it more as a hobby so that we can have new knives to look at without having to commit. I ask him to buy knives for us on ocassion and he does all the posting on the forums - Now just humor me - tell me how he lied?
