Wow!! nice whittlers everyone. Here is an older one. It has a horn handle and is marked on the tang R. Burnett, 10 Leith St., Edinburgh. So far, I haven't found much about this name. I think it is the name of a merchant. If anyone knows anything about it, please let us know.

Well, I am Whittler poor for the moment. Looking to change that in the future. But here is one that I really love for the phenomenal Autumn bone scales. In fact, I am still indebted to the good forum-ite member who was good enough to trade this to me a while back..:)

WooHoo...some beautiful and striking whittlers you guys are sharing here. Old and not so old...they're all good.

I am learning a lot on this forum, and appreciate the chance to participate here. I don't know as much as most of you about traditionals, but I have been attracted to knives for almost 50 years. Got my first pocket knife about age 7 or 8 when I was in scouts. I've carried and used a lot of traditional folders over the years, but never studied much about the styles, history, or famous makers. In my younger years, I carried some by Case, Eye Brand, Schrade, Boker, Ranger, Buck, Gerber, and others. I worked for about 17 years as a carpenter-framing & trim, and then owned my own cabinet business for years. Tools & blades, steel & wood have played a big part in my life. Most of the years I was doing construction work, I also had small scale farms with cattle and other livestock. I usually had my 1960's Buck 110 on my belt and a pocket knife in pocket those years.
Please excuse my self-blab here, but I just wanted to let you know I appreciate this forum and am learning a lot. Keep the pictures coming!
Thanks.:)

Ford,

You just summed up one of the many reasons why I love this community so much! We all come from different walks of life, different times and dates in life, different geographical areas in life, different cultures in life, and it goes on.. But the one common denominator is the steel blades and how we used them and so many other factors about them in there likes and there differences. I very am pleased to be here with this crew!.

Y'all are the Best,

Anthony

Here's a Canal Street Sambar Stag Whittler I got from Cumberland Knives. The pic is from Bill's website.

Here's a Schrade that I got from the factory collection when it was (sniff) disbursed after the closing of the plant.

I can't find the drool smilie to respond to the series of posts here. Here is one of my whittlers. This one is the 2000 rootbeer bone. It has a minor issue with the bone to the left of the shield. I seem to have a soft spot for knife that is a little less than perfect.
