He was watching me get closer and closerLooks likes he’s got his eye on a bug!
As of 2010 - I would have to check again, but the second largest black in the WORLD at 875 live and 744 dressed - was "harvested" out of a dumpster he had been visiting for 17 years, about 20 mins up the road. We’ve heard of a few bears around our area looking for food. Apparently in NC there is a a bunch of them near the beach, it is called Albemarle-Pamlico Peninsula, and is about 45 - 60 minutes inland from the Outer Banks (Nags Head). Good food sources and they say there some of biggest black bears around.

eta - The dudes kin got a 774 about 15 mins away, season prior to last
But so cute and cuddly !terrifying. Pure power.
NEPAWhat area are you located?
A black attacked a campsite in MT earlier this week IIRC (the ladies hadn't lifted the food in a bag, but kept it in their tent) - but TBH, I respect enough then enough that blacks aren't as scary as some of the ledges I prowl (timbers are common - a guy almost died a couple years back bc he was drunk and picked it up for a better picture - the EMTs who life-flighted him showed me his pre-adjustment picture they screen shotted off his phone. I am not creul, but I laughed).Bears are terrifying. Pure power.

eta - apologies for the lack of context/clarity
I am not sure what this means. Ledges? Pick what up? Pre-adjustment? I feel like I am lacking in some kind life of experience that would contextualize all this for me.
