i've got a boker with two bird heads on it. does anybody else have one?
Hello all! This is my first postHere is my Böker. From what I have researched, it is a very rare and old three bladed Physician Whittler made by the Boker Cutlery Company, Solingen, Germany. Not sure of the exact date but from the stamped markings on the tang main master blade, maybe pre-1940's not sure though. The bolsters & pins on this old knife are made of high polished German nickle silver and the liners are made of solid brass. Both scales are made of bone. Has a bail
The blades are made of high carbon alloy cutlery steel. If anyone knows anything more about this knife, please feel free to let us know. Thanks!
Very cool!!!!!!
I have the same pattern made my Robert Klass! Yours is the first one I've seen by Boker!

Wow that's awesome! Now that's a name I haven't heard in awhile Robert Klaas. A well respected history of knife making and also a German brandapproximately what year was your knife made?
That's a real beauty there. Where'd you find this double-bladed locking version? I can only ever see the stag versions online.
I have no idea. This pattern has remarkably little information available on the web. It's still a bit of a mystery. I've read it's in Mr Levine's book but little else. It came in a bail and no bail version. It has "the Kissing Crane symbol, Robt Klass, with Solingen on tang stamp (my camera is inadequate to record the small details).
GEC has a version of it...a melon whittler or something. Perhaps they have more info on the pattern which would apply to your Boker as well
You are very welcome!!Thanks for the information SAK Guy!
Thank you! I bought a Boker display and stock for my store back in '82-'83 and this was in it. The Boker's hardly ever sold in my store and one day a good friend of mine came in and bought the whole display and stock.
In 2006 my knife collection burned up in the New Years Day Wildfires and about a month later my buddy (who bought the Bokers in '83) walked up with a paper sack, handed it to me and said, "Here restart your collection"....the sack contained 12 Boker knives from my orig display..
I have never seen another like it. The double lock stag and the non locking double rosewood hunters are around but not this one.
Just received this new Tree Brand Classic 4" carbon stockman in appaloosa bone. I really dig the shield on this.
Pattern is #117474AB, and no mention of China anywhere on knife or box.
